FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every project is different, so we develop a custom proposal tailored to the specific scope of your work — no generic ballpark numbers. We typically offer fixed pricing, so you know exactly what you're paying before we break ground and there are no surprises along the way. Our proposals are detailed and transparent: they outline everything — the work to be performed, the materials, and the fixtures and finishes to be used. We also build in generous allowances for fixtures and finishes, so you have the flexibility to choose the selections that make your home feel uniquely yours.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It starts with a job site visit — we come to you, walk the space, and take the time to really understand your project: your vision, your budget, and how your family actually lives and uses your home. We want to know what matters most to you before we ever put pen to paper. From there, we build a fully custom proposal tailored to your specific project — the scope, the materials, the finishes, all of it laid out in detail so you know exactly what you're getting. Once we're underway, we handle the complexity so you don't have to. Permits, coordination, scheduling, problem-solving — that's on us. We keep you informed every step of the way, so the only things you need to worry about are picking your finishes and imagining how your family will enjoy the finished space. We treat every client like they're our only client. That's how we've built our reputation — almost entirely on referrals from happy homeowners.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
ARM Builders was founded by Aaron Weiss, a licensed civil engineer with over 20 years of experience as a general contractor in Los Angeles. That engineering background isn't just a credential — it means every project benefits from a founder who personally oversees structural soundness, code compliance, and permitting with a level of depth most contractors simply can't offer. We hold a Class B General Building Contractor license from the CSLB (Lic. #915352) — the principal license for residential and commercial construction in California, covering projects that involve two or more trades. Beyond the credentials, our team brings real hands-on experience: we've completed hundreds of projects across Los Angeles, and several of our crew members have been with us for nearly 20 years. That kind of continuity means the people building your home aren't learning on the job — they've seen it all and know how to handle whatever a project throws at them.
