A good guitar instructor is worth their weight in gold. Paul is able to translate his abilities as a musician and instrumentalist to my level seemingly with ease and helps me lift myself higher with every lesson. Honestly, he could charge twice as much and still be worth it to me.

One lesson in and I’ve learned more about guitar than I have on my own in the past 2 years. If Paul sees you have something down he will move on to the next thing and not linger on stuff you already do well as to not waste your time. Well worth it!

I am so pleased I chose Paul to be my guitar coach. I've only had my second session and Paul has me working on some of my favorite tunes! Also, I truly appreciate his organization; the exercises in the workbook Paul provided me are clear, easy to follow, and really help when I'm practicing on my own. If you want to learn to play the guitar and feel you are in solid hands, Paul is the instructor you want guiding and teaching you!

Details: 45 - 64 years old • No formal training • Yes, can read music staff • Acoustic • What the teacher recommends • Rock • Blues • Yes, the student has an instrument • 60 minutes • Remotely (phone or internet)

Paul has been wonderful at remote teaching. I was a little worried at first about remote learning, but Paul certainly knows what new students need and how to make the experience fun. I will continue my lessons with Paul until I'm done learning, how ever long that will take.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge $40 per half hour and $60 per hour. You pay at the beginning of the month for all lessons in the month. If you need to reschedule, you need to give at least 48hrs notice in order to receive a lesson credit.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I regularly make handouts for my students instead of having my students buy books to work out of. I am in the process of making my own book from student requests. The materials cover everything from the names of the strings, to specific songs from artists like The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Eagles, The Black Keys, Imagine Dragons, Mumford & Sons, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, etc.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I attended the University of Denver where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Jazz and Commercial Music with an emphasis in guitar performance. While in school I received awards for "Recital of Distinction" (both junior and senior year) and "Outstanding Jazz Undergraduate".
