Monica has been counseling and coaching individuals and couples for over a decade, helping them navigate through challenging seasons in their relationships. She was born and raised in Brazil and of Korean descent. Grew up attending an American school in São Paulo, Brazil, finishing her college studies in Paris, France. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, movies and cooking. But above all, what she loves the most is spending meaningful time with the people she loves.

I’ve been a client of Monica for a little over a year now. Initially, my boyfriend and I sought her out because we were in a on-and-off again relationship for 4 years. We finally got to a crossroads and it was either breakup or go to therapy. We decided that we needed to learn how to better communicate and express vulnerability with each other. We started doing couples counseling and she helped grow our relationship deeper. Once our initial issues were in a better place I started 1-on-1 sessions with Monica. I was able to work on reconnecting and finding myself in our sessions. She helped me recognize my codependent behaviors. She provided me a listening ear, sound wisdom, and the guidance to help make decisions for myself. She has not only helped me find my voice, express my feelings and confront uncomfortable situations in my romantic relationship but in all areas of my life. She has reminded me of my worth when I had forgotten, validated my feelings and expressed tough love when needed. Most importantly, she has given me real tools I can utilize and fall back on. I’ve learned that growth and healing is a constant journey. You will take 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. Monica has been on that journey with me. She has believed in me and encouraged me throughout the process. I cannot thank her enough.

Monica was a blessing for us. We were looking for a counselor familiar with duel culture experience and she was perfect. We live in the East Coast and she is on the West Coast so we didn't know about her beforehand. She is wonderful and does not take sides white supporting both partners creating a safe environment. We needed a lot of help and she did a great job. I also had a personal session with her husband and really liked him also. I highly recommend her! My wife is from India and we even had a session while she was away so Monica coordinated all the time zones so we could meet once. I pray we won't need her again but if we do we won't hesitate to reach out to her.
