- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been playing since I was 4 years old. It just happened, and music is what I am.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask for references, past and current students. Don't shop for the bottom-dollar price, shop for the relationship. Sacrifice on equipment/instrument and put that money towards instruction.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish they knew that expertise in varied styles of music, coupled with experience, makes for a dynamic teacher. I don't know of many teachers who can teach Bach, songwriting, jazz chord harmony, salsa piano, and more. I bring a flexible, creative approach that isn't out to create the next concert pianist, unless that's what the student wants.
