Dan is very knowledgeable on pianos. Hey worked fast and efficiently and did and overall great job tuning our 100 year old piano! I will definitely hire Dan again the next time I need his assistance!Jun 12, 2019Verified
Dan was able to tune an older piano that we acquired from a neighbor. We was on time professional and provided a great value.Aug 2, 2019Verified
Dan demonstrated extreme knowledge of my particular piano and knew immediately what needed to be done. He was easy to converse with and was able to answer our questions. He was very intertwining and a pleasure to have in our home. I would definitely recommend Dan for any piano tuning needs. AlanJul 20, 2019VerifiedDan the Piano Man's reply
Thank you for the kind words! I am overjoyed knowing you'll be making some cool music on that classic Baldwin Acrosonic! Thanks a gain!

Dan did a great job! He was very reasonable, but was extremely thorough in the tuning process! Very happy we hired him and he will be our piano tuner from here on out!Mar 25, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I will not respond to a request for tuning without an attached phone number! Unlike 'bait and switch' pricing that generally sounds great, generally DO NOT include the price of a 'pitch raise'. A piano HAS to be tuned a minimum of 2x in one visit for a stable tuning. This is why I charge a FLAT RATE for my service that includes minimum of 2 tunings in the same visit while also unsticking notes and lubing/adjusting pedal. The only time it is more if there is something physically broken or has a catastrophic problem. If your piano is untunable I do not charge for the visit.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I have a few questions that I need to ask so we are both on the same page. There are many cut-rate, bait and switch tuners out there that APPEAR to do the job for less, but once they are in your home the add-ons add up like PITCH RAISES, adjusting pedals, etc. Know the total tuning cost ahead of time!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?40 years of piano tuning! Plus, I was a Piano Performance Major at Depaul University and Composition Major at Columbia College. I KNOW what a piano should sound and feel like.
