- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
VOCAL TRACKING: flat rate of $20/hr (I track at my home studio and get excellent results) otherwise if we book a studio its $50/hr MIXING AND MASTERING: These are fixed rates and am confident I can deliver to my clients larger than life masters. I've had the rare opportunity to first learn to track bands with one of the best drum engineers in town and to a year later studying and apprenticing with 13 time Grammy winning Mixing Engineer Tony Smalios. Since then I've tracked mixed and or produced records with some awesome cats in punk rock, hip-hop, blues, jazz, dubstep, gospel and some others. $100/tune to mix and master $50 to mix individually $50 to master individually This includes: ONE go back to address notes A Mixdown and or Master 24 Bit Wav 44.1 khz V/O & MIXING TO PICTURE: In this category I charge an hourly rate with discount opportunities on longer work times. $50/hr or ($200/day discounted 8 hr day) My rate tops off at $200/day for this type of work to offer my services at a discounted rate to anyone with a heavy workload and or needs major help. I.e if the project involves a daily ADR scheduling for a documentary or film, or a vocalist needs an understanding vocal producer to help them deliver a project in a pinch etc. I've spent years tracking, editing, producing, and delivering voiceover takes to companies like McDonald's, Verizon, Ferrari and Justin Timberlake. I pride myself in my ability to work efficiently, deliver finished commercial quality slates. With that being said it is never my intention to extend a job as most of these jobs required hourly turnovers. This includes a tracking session on TOP MICS,PRES, and A/D CONVERTERS A commercial ready mix in whatever format required for your project. (24 bit wav 44.1khz-96khz available) *If you want to get a taste of my vocal tracking and production work listen to No Man's Land in my media section where I got to track the lovely Honey LaRochelle (Roberta Flack's MD, Brand New Heavies, The SingOff etc) This was a fun tracking/vocal production done for a heavy dubstep track we produced. There's a tasty Ill.Gates remix of it out as well if you're into EDM BANDS TRACKING: In this category we do a day rate. We myself and another assistant engineer will set up mics, check levels, and stock the kitchen of course. We usually have the drummer or everyone with long setups and sound check needs to come in and setup the day/evening before the recording date (free of charge) to ensure an uninterrupted 8 hour day of recording. When a band is rehearsed and ready, this can be highly productive and fun way to get many tracks knocked out in a quality studio or just fun if you want to give the gift of recording a jam to a loved one. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Identifying their needs and tailoring my services to achieve them.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've gone to school for this stuff but I think my best education an training came from working with clients. The audio engineering is definitely the easiest part, the less obvious area is how to maintain good working relationships. A lot of different personalities with similar desires.
