Introduction: I give one-on-one personal training to those who seek to explore their artistic talents. (Adults, kids, & teenagers) Warmups, stage performance, breathing techniques, range development, vocal control, healthy habits, and finding the soul of the music are some of the essentials that we will cover. We will find your voice (so to speak) and explore how to utilize it to its fullest potential! Everyone's voice is unique. I love to help people develop technique and healthy singing habits in order to pursue their dreams in music, whatever they may be! The same goes for acting! Everyone is unique and has a story to tell. We explore different methods of character development in order to properly tell their story.

After years of going to a classical singing teacher, I wanted to do something more. I wanted to learn to sing more modern songs, not the same traditional song for months on end! Ant this is how I found Melissa. Melissa is an incredibly talented singer, I'm really happy to have someone as good as her teaching me. She is super sweet and takes a lot of time making sure I have my basic scales down before moving on to songs. She helped me find my natural key, and I'm finding myself with a newfound confidence in singing that I never realized I had. I can't wait to start learning more advanced songs and sing to the radio without worrying about how embarrassingly off I sound. Thanks Melissa!

Melissa is a wonderful voice coach whose services I highly recommend! Melissa has been working with my 8-year old daughter to prepare for a big singing competition in New York City this summer. Melissa’s musical expertise and knowledge has been crucial to the preparation. Melissa has been teaching my daughter technique and vocal quality including pitch, tone, breath control, timing, projection, and vocal exercises. Melissa has also worked on style, stage presence and “sassitude” with my daughter. Perhaps most impressive is Melissa’s ability to teach all this to an 8-year old kid while making the lessons fun and interesting! My daughter loves their sessions, which are done via Face Time since we live far away. Melissa makes it really fun! Melissa has a very gentle and subtle way of teaching my daughter about music and singing without my daughter realizing it’s a lesson! Melissa encourages my daughter to explore her musical interests (rap, hip-hop, and stage musicals), has fun with the lessons and is extremely professional and focused.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We explore your strengths/weaknesses and plan out our goals. I do private coaching because I want to cater to YOUR needs and help you to hone in on your instincts as an artist while perfecting proper techniques and maintaining healthy habits. The end goal is to be confident in the power of your voice and to utilize it to it's fullest potential.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A little bit about myself: -Music- 21 years of singing experience. Training in rock, pop, musical theater, classical/opera, jazz, blues, R&B, and choral. Shares same vocal coach as Tori Kelly. After graduating from the University of Southern California (Dramatic Arts), started doing music full-time and auditioned musicians for own band (Black Velvet)! Currently plays all over LA and getting ready to play regularly at Disneyland. Two songs as #3 on the Top 40 Mainstream Independent Music Charts (in 35 countries world-wide). Each stayed on the chart for over a year. "Best Female Artist" - Independent Music Network (International) "Best Female Artist" - Televised Inland Empire Music Awards "Best Live Band" - Inland Empire Music Awards -Acting- 15+ years of experience for film, tv, and stage. Won "Best Actress" award from the Inland Theater League for lead role of Sarah in West Coast Premiere of "Class," written by esteemed playwright Charles Evered. Acted in over 50 short films, independent films, feature films, and television commercials or shows. Starred in and composed a rock opera film, "Vampurr." Studied under Bob Bailey, Joseph Hacker, Paul Backer, Dan Fishbach, Nancy Nayor, Jason Maddy, Patricia Scarborough, Robin Speer, and Paul Jacque. Worked as casting assistant for a few high profile casting directors. Produced and hosted original television shows, "Platforum Entertainment" and "Citizen LA."
