There are so many great things I can say about Lauren! Lauren illustrated a romantic comic for me that I had given to my boyfriend. She truly understood the importance of this project and made sure she depicted the images the way I had imagined. The illustrations were near perfect and made my bf tear up a bit. Her passion for art is evident during first point of contact and to say she is talented would be an understatement. She has my highest recommendation for someone looking for a true artist.

Lauren and I had a brief conversation about an idea for a brand which Lauren translated overnight into a flawless cross platform COMPANY. No revisions were required and the business exploded within days.

Q&A

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I read blogs and tech articles / tutorials to keep up with website development, am a constant user and tester for Adobe products, and keep up on the latest cameras, audio equiptment, software and gear. Basically, I'm a chic but I'm a gear-head :)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
I price my time at a simple $100/hr, which is less than when I was a co-founding partner at a company in San Francisco. On rare occaisions I will work for less, but only for the good of humanity or something I just cannot pass up. No one has ever complained that I cost too much - and that was at twice the rate.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was going to go to law school to make my dad happy. At about 19 years old, it occurred to me that we would both be happier if I was doing what suited my talents best and our relationship would prosper. I was not wrong. (just being honest here).
What types of customers have you worked with?
Website design and development, UI / UX design, Logo, Branding, Illustration, Fine Art, Video, and Film. Some audio engineering but that's a new area I'm just getting into after training for many years with some greats :)
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Designing the logo for my current transmedia company, Witchfactory Productions. Some people love it, some people hate it - but I had fun doing it and it suits what we do so well...
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Check out what I have to offer - I can send many more samples. But look around so you know you are finding the best person who fits your needs and your aesthetic. I'm versatile but there are many out there with a lot of talent. I want my customers to be happy they chose me, rather than feeling like they picked the first designer / developer / artist they saw.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I love visual art and visual communication design more than anything. I made a life for myself doing what I love, and that has made all the difference.
