About
I am a 400-hour E-RYT yoga instructor, completing my first 200-hour certification in multi-style yoga in India and my second 200-hour training in California. I teach a variety of class styles, work one-on-one with clients, and regularly facilitate breath work, meditation, and sound baths. My offerings emphasize nervous system regulation, somatic awareness, and the therapeutic potential of sound and breath. Yoga is about becoming awareness of all parts of yourself, your body, mind, and energy in order to understand where you are now. With this development of awareness things rise to the surface so that you may witness them, and let them go. I encourage my students to be exactly where they are. Whether in a movement, breath, or meditation practice they get the chance to be right here right now and find moments of stillness. More importantly these practices can then be brought into life off the mat, encouraging more peace in the daily life of the student. What makes my practice unique? I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance, with extensive training in movement and vocal technique. During my studies, I trained in an acting technique that focused on the chakras in the body, which deeply informs how I teach today. This background allows me to guide students in connecting to their energy, learning how to move and transmute it in order to neutralize their nervous system and let things flow through them. After finishing my degree, I travelled to India to pursue deeper knowledge of yoga and quickly fell in love. I knew from that point forward yoga would be a non-negotiable practice in my life and art, and that my art could also inform my yoga practice. My background in the performing arts informs my unique ability to guide students into deeper self-expression and inner alignment. Studying and falling in love with yoga philosophies has also become an integral part of my own practice. I weave yoga philosophy into every session, drawing on ancient wisdom to create meaningful practices that honor the tradition while meeting students exactly where they are on their journey.
