- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Our family has been in business in Manteca since 1964. We operated a chain of gas stations. In 1998 the opportunity came about to take over foodservice for the Manteca Golf Course. When that happened we sold our last gas station and moved into the banquet business. We have always been involved with food from our minimarts to a restaurant in the 80's. When we sold our last gas station we were the largest seller of tri tip sandwiches in town.

We help them visualize and plan their events. From picking meals and linens to event coordination.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
this email from the mother of a bride describes it best: My daughters wedding commenced on August 9, 2014, at Chez Shari in Manteca, and I could not be more pleased! John Guinta, was amazing throughout the duration of planning our event. He answered every question (I am certain, more than once, many times), in a timely manner, which in turn, provided a constant reassurance that we were in excellent hands. John is exceptionally detailed and meticulous in preparing his venue! This was evident upon my entering the main room, on the day of the wedding, which was absolutely stunning! (Decorated by Events 22, Ripon via Johns recommendation.) John did not miss a single detail, from the table settings; stem ware; perfectly aligned chairs; countless other details which provide a first class atmosphere, down to his lighting the room a perfect shade of pink, and his coordinating tie!! When seeing John come out in a perfectly matched tie, I have to say, I was even more impressed! The horderves were perfect! John even went the extra mile there! After returning from pictures, John, himself, brought to our table, a fresh out of the oven a platter, which exemplifies a gracious host! Dinner was served to the guests at their tables, beautifully presented, plentiful, and absolutely wonderful! John is a rare find! Words cannot express how highly I recommend Chez Shari, John Guinta, and his staff for any event! I had a little trouble expressing my gratitude to the extend I feel grateful!
