FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every client and situation is unique. When I take a listing, I normally charge 5.0% total commission of the final sales price, which is paid out of escrow at closing. If there is a cooperating Brokerage (sometimes referred to as a Buyers Agent or Selling Agent), I will compensate them with 50% of the 5% total commission (2.50% to each side - list side and buy side). I normally discourage representing the Selling Party and Buying Party at the same time (aka Dual Agency), however in the event of Dual Agency, all parties will be notified of Dual Agency and the 5.0% total commission is normally discounted. When I represent a Buyer, I am compensated by the Listing Agent's Brokerage therefore there is no charge to the Buyer(s) for representation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to take a lot of time in getting to know my clients and I encourage people to ask me as many questions as they like. This is very important because it lays the foundation of trust and confidence. Real Estate transactions can sometimes be tricky, complex and overwhelming therefore I believe in demystifying the process and arming my clients with information so together we can make informed decisions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Prior to my real estate career, I worked in retail management since the late 90's. I learned a lot about business, building relationships, strategy and anticipating possible challenges. I transitioned into real estate in 2007 and found that retail helped me build a strong foundation for my real estate practice. I take a lot of time to listen and understand the needs of my clients so I can help guide them in the right direction.
