I had a tricky cabinet job in my rental unit. There were gas compression springs used to hold kitchen cabinet doors open in the vertical position -- the springs had lost compression, and were no longer in production, and the cabinet shop that had originally installed the cabinets could not provide a substitute. Luis solved the problem. He sourced replacement springs from a different manufacturer, rebuilt the original hinge mechanism, taking care to use exactly the right level of compression so that the doors lifted smoothly and closed manually with a minimum of effort. This took a bit of trial and error and he was extremely patient with the project and kept me in the loop at all times. The resulting mechanism is a thing of beauty. I intend to hire Luis again for future projects. He is resourceful, hard-working, and a perfectionist. I was impressed.
