I am CompTIA A+ Certified with five years of PC and Apple computer experience. I have successfully fixed many computers. I have successfully bid for laptops that people want to sell as is, fixed and upgraded them, load an operating system, and sold them online. I also accept electronic waste for recycling. I have a trade school degree in Electronics Sales and Service. The challenge of fixing computers. I enjoy watching problems and issues solved or workaround found at reasonable prices. If the computer costs more to fix than to replace or it only will run unsupported old operating system like XP or Vista or OSX earlier than Mavericks, I do take the old computer to a e-waste recycling center if customer does not want to keep it. The customer will get an USB enclosure for housing the old computer hard drive to archive and get data files to the newer computer.

Richard was very knowledgeable & was able to figure it how to fix my laptop very quickly. Although, we had to find a part to fix properly, once he got it everything was fixed immediately. And the cost was Minimal & very fair.

Although I ended up doing the PSU replacement myself, Richard's help & professionalism in honestly telling me that he didn't have the PSU part and eventually directing me to get the part at Fry's was highly appreciated. It was only after an exchange of messages that I realized I could do the replacement myself.

Richard replaced my Gateway laptop's cracked computer screen with a newer screen that I purchased online and had sent directly to his shop. Everything went smoothly, with work completed as agreed upon (timing, price). I would definitely use his services again.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Minimum labor charge of $20 for diagnosis estimate cost, upgrade and troubleshooting, diagnostics and recommendation of action. For a clock battery or reset forgotten password, $5 plus what I paid Thumbtack to quote. I also make offers to buy and take away end of support old "dinosaur" laptops (Customer can keep the old hard drive for data) and electronic waste.
