Jesse and Bianca are amazing! Personable, professional, talented and fun. We began taking classes from Jesse and Bianca with absolutely no history in Latin dancing. In 5 sessions we were dancing merengue and cumbia (to the amazement of our friends). We have enjoyed the experience so much that now we are taking salsa lessons as well.

We wanted to perform a surprise Bachata dance for our wedding and Kassaundra created a beautiful Choreography for us. She was very professional and responsive, made us enjoy the lessons and she was very flexible in order to work with our busy schedule :) Thank you!

Having met Elisa a couple of years ago after she moved to San Diego, I began to take supplemental dance lessons with her from time to time. Now, she is my primary partner in ProAm dance competitions. Elisa has found a way to motivate me to continue to improve my performance quality while making the dance experience fun. She has a gift for sensing what teaching methods get through to each student, as we all learn in different ways, without making lessons into rote drudgery. She also can sense when a student is getting overwhelmed my technique and knows when to back away and reinforce what you already know first before moving on to the newest concept. I have seen my ability as a competitive and social dancer improve more quickly with Elisa than with any other dance instructor with whom I have worked over the past six years.

We have been students of this studio from 2007 until our recent need to relocate, from our experience the instructors are outstanding and will take you to their "happy place" nightly .. our personal instructor not only taught us dance technique but gave us a passion for dance, ... owners Julie and Nathan strive to guide students but more than that they inspire ..... it was our go-to place for fun, it could be yours ... check it out. I couldn't be happier finding Dance Daly Ballroom, not only for my immediate need for help with my Cha-Cha dance moves because I'm doing a choreographed dance with my son (the mother-son dance), but because I want to learn ballroom for fun, confidence, for my new 2nd career (trying to get into Commercials, and ballroom dancing is great on the resume), so after this wedding, I'm definitely going to join! Both Sveta, the studio manager and her husband Jason, the owner, are so kind, warm and welcoming. Jason was my instructor at my first intro (free) lesson, and he was so patient and helpful and professional - I felt comfortable, not nervous at all, and he shared a variety of tips to help me remember my steps, plus gave me plenty of positive reinforcement when I "got it" right! I really appreciated the package deal he gave me, with a first-time customer discount, so I could afford to take 5 lessons between now and the wedding in 3 weeks! Check them out. It's an awesome studio.

Alma Latina has great children's dance teachers. I'm not sure who is happier at the end of class, the kids or the teacher. Both are glowing. Teachers and kids both have great fun while learning Latin and ballet technique. Kids especially love learning the showmanship attitude. Just search for Alma Latina Kids on youtube and you'll see what I mean. I hope to be as good as the AL kids someday! The best ages for kids classes are 3 years old and up. They also have great adult classes in salsa, cumbia, bachata where they mix in cha cha. My favorite kid's teachers are Gaby, Biana and Paula.

          Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do dance lessons cost?

Adults who want to learn to dance, whether to prepare for a wedding or to meet new people, often enjoy taking dance lessons from an experienced dance instructor. Instructors may offer classes one-on-one to individual students or couples, or to small groups. The national average cost for a dance instructor ranges from $30 to $50. Some studios offer a discounted introductory lessons or group lessons, as well as package deals that are more affordable than paying for individual lessons. Some dance instructors will travel to the student’s home, which usually costs more, while others hold small-group sessions in their studios. If you choose a small-group class, expect to pay less than for individual dance lessons.
