My first experiences working with Alma were in the turbulent atmosphere of television news. Over a period of time she held several positions that required constant attention to detail, maintaining social contacts and meeting extreme deadlines. She has always been thorough in all things professional. All the positions she has held since, those outside of the media, led her to her current profession, one that she is perfectly suited for. She is a caring counselor but rigorous in her dealings with clients. She has a friendly demeanor that provides a comfort zone with clients as they work through the issues at hand.

Alma is a seasoned caring counselor who listens deeply, has a great sense of humor, knows how to guide you through to your own answers and has a special expertise in supporting midlife and older individuals and families. She is one of the best counselors I know in the north bay with her kind of skill set.

Alma has been my Therapist off and on (when I've gone through rough patches) for years. I keep going back because in my experience, she has always helped me get to the bottom of what is REALLY going on and what my work is to MOVE through and subsequently learn from it. Hence, my continual growth and certainty that I can and will face everything and recover whereas previously I was frozen in fear. She is "warm and fuzzy" yet operates with a velvet hammer of sorts. She is not one of those Therapists who keep you coming back for the paycheck with slow recovery. She genuinely wants me to move through and on with my life. I really appreciate that!

I liked Alma from the start. She related well to both of us and did not show partiality. She was clear and reasonable about her expectations, and we made progress after the first session.
