Lisa is a natural when it comes to dogtraining. I love her demeanor and my dogs responded to her immediately. She helped me work through the psychology behind my dog’s issues and gave me strategies to use for barking and pulling. Definitely using her again!

Jess is great to work with. She was very patient with my dog (who doesn’t like to walk on laminate floors…) and by the end of the session had her walking a few steps with confidence! She taught me a few skills and ways to train my dog until our next visit. Looking forward to it!

Jess was awesome from the moment she walked in. Jaxon happened to be running on the couch with a mouth full of receipts so the minute she stepped in and her work started. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am very fluid in how I work. I ask the customer what they want to learn about and teach them! I then ask people to write up a summary of what they learned in an email and then I will give them feedback on that. Usually it works best to meet every week to two weeks for a few sessions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have trained dogs for over 10 years using fun and effective positive techniques. I hold a bachelor's degree in biology and have a dog trainer Counseling Certificate from the SF-SPCA dog training academy.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was a biologist and I wanted a new career that was more interactive. I have always loved animals and behavior and dog training was a natural fit. That was 20 years ago now! I worked as a dog trainer for about 5 years full time and moved to California. I focused more on the store then and less on training. I didn't realize how much I missed it until I started back up again about 6 months ago. To help people with their dogs from a more mature age has been unexpectedly inspiring. I really love this work, it's like my therapy!
