My teaching philosophy is clear and simple " Have Fun Learning and Teaching" ​ The first time I had the chance to meet five time Grammy award winning bassist Victor Wooten was at his camp outside of Nashville Tenn. I will never forget his love and joy of teaching music and life skills. One of the many things I learned that will always be a part of my approach to teaching music is how jamming or having a conversation with expert musicians is the most fundamental and important ways to learn how to develop your voice and technique on your instrument. My approach at Mu-sick Beats jam studio is designed to allow students the opportunity to jam and learn. "Making music can and should be as fun as learning to speak for the first time." ​ My areas of mastery include Jazz composition and performance, music theory, music production, Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae. While pursuing my education I had the opportunity to study with Victor Wooten, Dave Holland, Malachi Favors of the Art Ensemble of Chicago, John Lockwood and George Russell, creator of the Lydian Chromatic Concept of tonal harmonization. I have toured the world performing Jazz, R&B, Reggae and World Beat music with various bands, taught upright and electric bass privately, and have released CD’s and digital tracks of original compositions. I really enjoy watching my students grow in ways that they never would have realized they could. When they come to the lessons with questions about the work they have done.
