Introduction: Dear Thumbtack customers, I have been operating my one man shop, Bruce Williams Woodfloors, for more than twenty years. I provide personalized service to homeowners and contractors who need installation, sanding and refinishing, repairs or consultation on all types of hardwood floors. Most of the photos show some of the more unusual and dramatic work that I've done. The photo labeled "#1 common" is really more typical of my every-day work. I also do lots of kitchen remodels and additions, and can offer design suggestions if needed. If you have one small room to refinish, I can do it!. If you have an entire house, I can do that too! Large jobs or small are all in the mix at Bruce Williams Woodfloors.

Bruce has repaired and refinished most of the hardwood floors in my house. My floors were very old and poorly maintained and I thought they would need to be replaced. Bruce was sure they could be refinished and he was right. My floors look great and they are holding up well to a small child and a large dog. Bruce is very conscientious and reasonably priced. Bruce returned my call promptly and was able to get to my hardwood floor repair in a reasonable time. A plumbing problem caused water damage and buckling of a section of parquet flooring. Bruce repaired it to my satisfaction. I would definitely call on him again in the future.

Bruce is the epitome of a professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. For starters the quality of his work is outstanding - our home was built in 1935 and the project was a bit tricky. Our son's room and our den now have amazing gorgeous wood floors thanks to Bruce's magic.The new wood matches the other floors well and we have received many compliments on it. His prices are very fair, he is so nice and we'd recommend him without hesitation.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A phone conversation establishes the basic scope of the job and verifies that it is within my expertise. Often I can give" ball-park" estimates based on a phone conversation. This is also an opportunity for us to get to know each other a little, and to establish the beginnings of a working relationship. We work out a time for me to come and look and the work, and usually within a day or two, and sometimes on the spot, I can provide a proposal.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have operated Bruce Williams Woodfloors since 1994. I also operated my own flooring business for several years in the mid-1970's, with a different career in between. I originally learned the trade from my father, who operated his own business in San Francisco for 52 years.
