Introduction: The Community Rejuvenation Project is the East Bay's most prolific mural organization. With over 150 public murals painted in the last 5 years, CRP has developed a reputation as the go-to group for public art, both as painters and policy advocates. Its monumental works include the Alice Street Mural Project in downtown Oakland, Madre Maiz in West Oakland, and Peace and Dignity in East Oakland. CRP has received commissions from the City of Oakland, Alameda County's StopWaste program, ESC Local 21, as well as numerous community groups and non-profit organizations. CRP's diverse skill set ranging from realistic to abtract, professional methodology and model for community engagement has allowed the artists to work on a broad range of topics.
Its a dream job. We love to paint. The act itself is creates a great feeling. We also love to travel to new locations and meet new people. Finally, we love to challenge ourselves to try new styles and approaches. Basically, its just a blessing to be creative for a living.
