- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have several packages and I also customize packages for people who don't fit my most popular packages. The per lesson price ranges from $120 to $90 depending on the package.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every new student gets an "explorer session", followed by a private lesson. The explorer session is an in-depth interview in which I explore their goals, dance background if any, learning styles and anything that might get in the way of learning to dance. After that, I know enough about them to tailor the lesson to exactly what they need. For this reason, I schedule 2 hours for the first meeting, but I don't charge extra for the explorer session. After I've interviewed them and experienced how they learn, I have enough information to suggest a package that will most fit their needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I learned from a variety of teachers over the years. Whenever I wanted to add another dance to what I could offer, I looked for someone to teach it to me. I also use my background in couples counseling and mediation, as well as the years I spent teaching self defense to people with physical disabilities, to teach my students how to practice and still want to be together afterwards, and to work around physical problems as well.
