Introduction: Hello! I am a private chef in the Oakland/Bay Area with over 6 years of experience. I specialize in bringing people to the table. Many of my clients describe my food as farm to fork or California Soul, but I dabble in a number of cuisines. My services include: custom meal prep, private dinner experiences, small event catering, and cooking classes. Some of my favorite type of events are: Sunday dinners, friends' weekend trips, private cooking classes, and celebratory meals like birthdays and anniversaries. I've even had clients book me to come in and cook as a part of their rest days. I help busy families with their food and nutritional needs. This service was unmatched! The food taste and quality was amazing. This was the perfect option for meal prep in our home. Marquis came in in a Monday, cooked for a few hours and had all our meals ready for the week. We now have him coming every other week as this food and service was amazing. Highly highly suggest.

I hosted a dinner party for a group of 15 and The Homegrown Soul cooked for us and let me tell you, he did not dissapoint! The food was amazing, we kept going back for seconds and thirds! The quality and taste of the food was fresh and perfect. He worked closely with me to determine the menu of the night and made sure the food matched the overall vibe of the food. My friends are still talking about how great the meal was, months later. He is also friendly, communicative, punctual and will ensure you have a quality experience. My pricing is simple: service fee (depends on the type of engagement), grocery cost, and a small travel fee (depending on location)

Start with contacting me, then we will get more information on your event, if you're interested I will generate an invoice. Service is incredibly important to me, so I try to get a lot of details from my clients about what they'd like to see.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask questions! Many times clients come to me with negative experiences that could have been avoided: - Make sure your pro has proper license and understanding of food safety. - Can they comfortably cook for your dietary needs? - Do you like the food you're getting? You get what you pay for when it comes to food preparation.
