FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been doing carpentry since I was able to hold a hammer. It's kind of a no-brainer.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure they are properly licensed, bonded, insured, etc. Most "nightmare" stories of contractors not finishing jobs, taking too much money up front, or messing up the home could be resolved or avoided if the contractor was properly licensed. Insurances protect the owners home, property, and workers while on site. It is not an easy process to get licensed, so licensed contractors guard their license and reputation more and follow through with quality work so as to stay in good standing.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It is best to hire a skilled professional. Carpentry is a lot of common sense, but combined with experience and skill. Some projects are doable by the owner, but many problems could be avoided if done by one with experience. As with any profession, there are always tricks of the trade and things that seem to be a minor aspect may not turn out to be and could potentially backfire, and in the long run, ruin the project and maybe the rest of your home.
