Coronado Carpet cleaners we're able to accommodate my request on very short notice which was much appreciated. The representatives from Coronado were very friendly and communicative; however, they were about 40 minutes late for a carpet cleaning which took approximately 40 minutes. I would use Coronado's services again.

I am so pleased with the service provided by Mother Nature's Carpet Cleaning. Our carpets were so filthy from kids and random spills and stains. It was embarrassing! I was ready to replace them altogether but thought to give a new cleaning service a try. Our carpets look like new. I was blown away by how clean they were after the service. The technicians were polite and professional and did what needed to be done to get a great result. I'd highly recommend this company and will be using them in the future.

RIcardo was great - super helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. He was incredibly responsive and was willing to pitch in on additional things to help make my move out as smooth as possible. For projects he helped install some flooring, paint, move some furniture and patch some holes. Would recommend him for sure.

2nd time using Carl of Carpet, Rugs Cleaning Pros. Exactly on time. Had no urine stain but a doggie odor in this one bedroom carpet that was steam cleaned by another company 4 months ago and started to smell already. He pointed out that the previous company must have done a rush job and I believe his assessment. Carl was thorough and pay extra attention to getting the high traffic areas extra clean. Love his full size portable unit... goes everywhere.

Liliana did an amazing job with a move-out cleaning for our appt (both deep cleaning + carpet cleaning). She was responsive, punctual, and flexible (we had some last-minute changes in our schedule and she worked with us to sort out all the details). We would definitely hire her again, and have already referred her to others who were impressed with her team's work.

I've literally communicated with or contacted at least five contractors over the past two months to complete this flooring job. Salinas was an answer to prayer! Whereas other sites or contractors told me to wait and/or never got back to me or took others jobs, Vyron responded promptly within an hour when I posted the job on Thumbtack. Vyron and Pablo did excellent work putting down a new subfloor and plywood, then installing an LVP (see photos) and a new toilet (not pictured). Vyron communicated about every step of repair and installation and about every purchase for the job. He takes pride in his work and left the work area clean. I'm so glad that the job is finished and that it was done well.

Liseth and Nilda did a great job deep cleaned our apartment. Bathroom wall tiles and floor were sanitize and whiten. I was expecting a bit more like cleaning the walls and toilet tank which wasnt done. I guess not enough time. Kitchen part, the stove inside and out were scrubbed and cleaned. Outside refrigerator, cabinets's door were wiped except the inside drawers and cabinets. Again, they're running out of time. Kitchen floor were scrubbed, sanitized and mopped. Last part was the living room. It was vacuumed and dust a few appliances. Lot of work. Good job ladies!! Not bad at all! I will hire Liseth again.

Ana's husband, Jucelino, and a helper, Patricia, came to clean my home. They did a good job and stayed much longer than I had anticipated. Jucelino did a fantastic job on the bathrooms. We had one bathroom that went with us thru construction, so it was very dirty and grimy as you can imagine. He did an excellent job cleaning it. My only issue would be with the floors. They did a good job upstairs, since all carpet it was very straight forward, vacuum. However, the downstairs floors required a little more attention since we just moved in and normally don't wear our shoes in the house, but have been. Floors were vacuumed, but weren't moped that well. I plan to hire them for regular cleanings, so I imagine in time the floors will get cleaner and cleaner. Overall though, I was satisfied with their service and cleaning.

We recently moved out of our office in Palo Alto and we hired Unstain to clean our office in preparation for our landlord to come and inspect the office. Unstain did a fabulous job from the carpet cleaning to the doors and windows which were left spotless to the shelves and refrigerator clean-out. The kitchen, bathrooms, and the offices were all left immaculate. Our CEO was impressed with their work. I highly recommend them and I would hire them again.

Overall excellent deep cleaning job. I have had other carpet cleaners who used small suction equipment who got the room clean but these guys give you the assurance of a better professional job. They also gave a nice discount for being local.

They did a great job. Very meticulous in cleaning off surfaces that we didn't even ask them to in the kitchen and on the window sills. Knew exactly what to do without much direction from us like cleaning out gunky stuff from the bathroom tile grout. Left the mirrors streak-free clean, and vacuumed up any dust that fell from cleaning other surfaces.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

  • Old standard or electric toothbrush
  • Stiff bristle brush
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How much does it cost to clean a carpet?

Carpet cleaning costs vary depending on the type of cleaning, such as steam cleaning, and whether there are any stains that require special treatment. The main cost factors are the square footage of the carpet and the material it’s made from. The national average carpet cleaning price ranges from $100 to $130 for a typical suburban home, but steam cleaning prices start at an average of $120. In general, professional carpet cleaning ranges from an average of 20 cents to 50 cents per square foot, depending on where you live. Many companies have a minimum fee or room requirement — such as two rooms for an average of $40 each — and will charge more to clean carpeted stairs or a second floor. Finally, the carpet fiber type, density and pile will also affect the cost of cleaning; man-made fibers are stain-resistant and easier to clean, while wool carpeting is sensitive to water and requires more care.
