After remodeling our kitchen, we had to install new hardwood floors on the center 1/3 of our first floor. The existing floor is red oak with a 3 5 6 row pattern. The first person who attempted to do the job, made the floors look like a hack job. Huge gaps in between boards that was filled with putty the last row of flooring was two different widths on either end. The guy didn’t even want to attempt to fix it. This was at the beginning of December, and we had a lot of family coming in from all over for the holiday. We got in touch with Aaron, and found out he was booked for the next few months. We asked if there was anyway we could get the floors done by Christmas and being sympathetic to our problem he said that he would come down that weekend and take a look at it, but cant promise anything, which is completely understandable. After showing Aaron the floors he went and looked at the left over material and figured out that the factory pieces were not all the same. They were supposed to be 3”, 5”, and 6”. The factory sent some that were 3”, 3 1/16”, 3 3/32” and some 5”, 5 1/16”, 5 3/32” and some 6”, 6 1/16”, 6 3/32”. That day Aaron ripped out all the boards that had just been installed until it was the original flooring. He then separated all the wood so that there was a stack of each dimension. He then installed everything from the right side until it was at the center of the new island and then made a tongue and started from the other side. He made sure each row was the same width and continued until they meet, at the middle of the island where the last row, which will be whatever it came out to be, was the least noticeable. The following weekend he came down with a few more guys and sanded everything and put entry way and then matched the stain perfectly. Everything worked out and we were able to have the best and unfortunately last Christmas with my father. The floors came out great, and we owe it to Aaron. He went above and beyond, gave up his weekends so that we could host Christmas in our new kitchen.
