We have never had better school pictures than when Sharie has taken them. In fact, many people who have visited our house and seen Esmé's and Elsa's preschool pictures have commented on this: "That doesn't look like my school pictures!" That's because Sharie not only manages to catch their natural expressions and joy, but light and set them up so beautifully. The kids are relaxed, happy, and well lit! They are their true selves. We were also surprised that the school picture process involved getting to meet Sharie at the school to view the photos. It was such a pleasure to meet her and to be able to select the photo we liked best. In fact, choosing between all the photos was the hardest part! She captured our kids so beautifully. I wish she could be the photographer for our elementary school! We also hired Sharie to photograph our family and had the same amazingly results and experience. Now we have gorgeous family portraits too! Thank you, Sharie!

Sharie is, hands down, the best photographer with whom Ive ever worked. I was so pleased with my photos that I purchased four separate portraits from her, and I love them! Until I worked with Sharie, I actually dreaded having my picture taken because I usually disliked the results. Sharie has the eye of a true artist, and brought a delightful, magical demeanor to our shoot. I actually enjoyed being photographed by her, and cannot possibly recommend her highly enough. Shelby Sharie Cohen is an absolute gem! She took time to really understand the vision I have for my business and my brand so that she could capture photos that really express the energy, vibrancy and passion of my company and the work we do. This was my first experience getting my photos taken (aside from my school yearbook days, when I did it under protest :) With Shelby behind the camera, it was almost surreal, like it was truly just "my day." That felt wonderful. When Shelby is shooting, you never feel the stress of "having your picture taken" because she's puts you at ease, makes you laugh... brings out your best. Like many people, I've never been one who likes being photographed. Yet I can honestly say, the moment I saw Shelby's pictures of me, it felt damn good. Sharie has done my son's preschool photos for the last 2 years. She always managed to capture his personality while taking excellent photos. Our family was long overdue for some family shots and Sharie was the only one we considered up to the task. For the last year, our son has been adamant in not having his photo taken so we weary of plunking down money on a photo session which would have less than stellar results. Knowing that Sharie has had success with our son at school, it was a no-brainer having her do the family shots. And she did not disappoint! The pictures turned out amazing. Not only did she manage to get our child to cooperate but she got him to open up to the camera and give us natural smiles. In addition to the family photos, she took a couple of great head shots for my husband.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My client wants some photography. I ask them appropriate questions in able to get the job done in excellence. I have three packages to choose from. We set a date and we photograph. Have great communication. Client may come to my studio to look at photography or I can send a link with the photographs and my recommended choices. Clients chooses what they want. I photoshop them and send them in Drop Box. I have many HAPPY clients!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started my education in photography in 1975. I went to the Career Education Center in Denver. I studied photography. I photographed my first Wedding when I was 15. I received an AA Degree in photography at the College of the Redwoods in Eureka California in 1982. I graduated with honors in 1984 from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, CA in 1984. I worked at the Good Guys cooperate office for 9 years as a photographer, photographing thousands of products, people, Advertising went all over the state. I have had my own business in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1985. I am a Master Photographer of 44 years!
