FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I almost ALWAYS quote my price well below a customers maximum budget for their shoot.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to answer any questions they might have and take note of any and all details they require such as when, where and what style of coverage they consider 'theirs'.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got a point-and-shoot camera for my birthday when I was 10 or 11. I enjoyed taking photos very much. Through the years I've had a number of different SLRs and have continued shooting everything that moves... and, actually, my motto has pretty much continued with... if it doesn't move, I shoot it anyway.. In the 90s I answered an ad in the Chronicle to shoot portraits for the Bay-to-Breakers race in San Francisco. It was just once a year but I did that gig for about 20 years.
