We wanted to convert our garage to an ADU to start generating rental income and add a pool to our home in Tarzana.
I contacted Smrt.build and a few other general contractors I found online. I emailed them the plans. Out of the 4 contractors I met, Matan wasn't the cheapest bid but still, I liked his energy, clarity, and the fact he always answered his phone (which continued after we hired him). He actually went through all of the costs and the positives and negatives about different materials he could use. No one else spent so much time with us or followed up as he did.
We decided to sign with him, and he got to work right away. Once we got started the entire Smrt.build team was continuously communicating with us updating us on the progress and attentive to every request we had. Even after we had the plans done there were still many changes we wanted along the way and the team was always there to support our decisions with their design experience and knowledge with the different materials we used.
The entire process went better then I had expected and, most importantly, on time and on budget!

I was referred by my friend and was not disappointed! Matan gave us a very detailed proposal. It was so easy to form a positive and constructive rapport with him and he was prompt at responding to any questions we had. We built a new 500 sq.ft addition to the house extending our living room and increasing our master bedroom. Matan and his team were fabulous with the design part and walking us through the whole process, being very patient and answering all our needs. We did not expect we'd have so many decisions to make along the way so good communication was crucial.Matan oversees a wonderful professional team that worked tirelessly to get the job done the best way.We had a certain schedule we needed to be on with a specific date to finish the project and the team was all there for us from the get go.The team on site was 100% synced with city restrictions due to COVID-19 and obeyed the rules and all guidelines making sure everyone was safe. We were impressed and felt we were in good hands.

It was a pleasure to work with Matan and the entire SmrtBuild team on our new home. Matan went above and beyond for us from start to finish, giving us extra attention throughout the process. He spent all the time needed. Walking me through different options and discussing designs and features to help me get a better idea of what I wanted my home to look like. I wanted it to function, and for him to better understand my vision. Matan understands that there is a connection between the home and the homeowner and knew that in order to remodel my home in the best way possible, it was important to get to know my family and me and customize the home to our lifestyle and preferences. Not only did I have a great experience working with Matan, I also thoroughly enjoyed working with the project manager, Noam, and the rest of the team. Their streamlined communication and organization throughout the process made the project seem easy and manageable. Although there were issues that came ופ, like in any project. Matan always helped us find a good solution.
I had a great experience overall and would highly recommend SmrtBuild to anyone interested in a trustworthy and caring contractor.

Our house had some major remodeling that needed to be tackled. We had no experience with these types of projects so we really needed to hire someone who could take care of everything for us. Matan & Tom were fantastic from our first interaction! They and the whole team handled everything from planning & design to interior and exterior construction and a whole list of other things with finesse. We had a lot of other stuff to stress about during our remodeling, so we are very grateful to Matan the team for working so efficiently, for making the remodel hassle-free, and of course, for making everything look great.
Matan & Tom constantly kept us updated throughout the process, and always made us feel like we were a top priority for them, even though we know they had much bigger projects going on at the same time. The work was finished right on schedule, and Matan even came and did a final walk through to make sure that we were absolutely satisfied with all the work his team performed.

Matan and his teams worked on our ADU project and we were very happy with the results. They were punctual, responsive, efficient, clean and most importantly they delivered. Even when problems arise they promptly fixed it and had great follow-ups.
It wasn't an easy job since our foundations were very old and on a hillside. We had many obstacles along the way, the SmrtBuild team was very professional in finding solutions and we knew we were in great hands.
Thanks to Matan and he's design experience, we managed to find the best materials and get the best design possible for our ADU. We are very happy with their work and highly recommend SmrtBuild.
