Juan is the real deal. Knowledgeable, friendly, professional and honest about what your problem is. He came back out to review an issue that turned out to be my error resetting an irrigation timer. I had him do a few other things that he suggested with sprinkler locations etc. No hard sell or up selling; just honest recommendations that ultimately resulted in my lawns looking the best they ever have. I mow my own lawns but he has offered a deal to take over the work at a very reasonable price. I may have to do this eventually. First time using Thumbtack and it won't be the last. Great job.

Juan and he crew did a great job. He did exactly what I asked, if I had a small issue, he was there first thing the next morning to address the problem. His assistant communicated by email and made any arrangements that needed to be made.
The job took a little bit longer than expected, mainly because he was already engaged in working on a much larger landscaping job when he started ours. My wife reassured him that it wasn't urgent that our job was finished 'immediately' so we made arrangements to have Juan come back the following week and complete the job so that he was not running back and forth between 2 job sites. One very nice thing was that he originally quoted 2 prices, 1 with Brass Valves and one with Plastic Valves. Since the brass was going to be out of our budget, we opted with the plastic. As a courtesy, due to the delay in completing the job, he installed the brass valves any at no additional cost.

We decided to put some effort and time during quarantine to redo our backyard. My husband jackhammered out 2 half dumpsters of cement and we had two guys from the railroad tie place install the ties. This was a pretty DIY process (it's almost complete!). We knew we needed lanscapers to come in and finish the job. I just kept searching Thumbtack and Yelp. Wendy responded right away and set up an appointment for Juan to come take a look. We wanted to install DG (decomposed granite) in a large area and some steps within the railroad ties. I wish we could have afforded Valdivia to install the ties (so bear in mind they did not install the ties - but they do do that).
They were very punctual every day and always easy to communicate with. Wendy is super nice and I was able to message with her as the job was happening. They leveled everything for the DG and installed the gravel and weed barrier then the DG. We also had them install gravel, sod, and mulch. They tore up our old sod and prepared the dirt before laying the sod perfectly. I'm pretty picky when it comes to detail and they did an amazing job!! They swept up our walkway at the end of everyday, trimmed some grass in the front, removed ice plant in a bed in the backyard and trimmed our spikey yuccas in the back cactus bed. They also fixed the sprinklers my husband put in ;) They really went above and beyond - Juan is super nice and easy to communicate with.
We're setting up bi-weekly maintenance for the future and will 100% call them again when we're ready to get the rest of the front and backyards landscaped.
I've included photos from the project midway through when the railroad ties were in but I hadn't found Valdivia yet.
And most of the final result with sod.
They also re-wrapped out peach tree because what we'd done was falling off 😂

Juan and his crew reconfigured our sprinkler system, capping several sprinklers and relocating several others in our large yard. The result was better coverage using less water. He did a great job and I would recommend him.
