Introduction: Simple, fun, and easy: that's our goal.
A wedding is a celebration, not a performance. Still, couples want to feel confident and prepared when they step onto the dance floor.
Whether you're looking for basic dance instruction or custom choreography, our instructors can help relieve stress, build confidence, and create extra special moments on your big day.
Our approach are as follows:
1. We come to you. Rather than requiring couples to meet our instructors in a local dance studio, we meet with clients in the location of their choice, often in their own home. This saves time, overhead costs, and lowers stress for those who have never walked into a dance studio before. Contact us for more information about regions served and to discuss potential meeting location.
2. We keep it simple and personalized. Many dance studios and instructors try to sell couples a package of group lessons that take lots of time and are not specific to client needs. We make sure to have a good idea of what you want before our first lesson so that all sessions are specific to you. Usually, we can help couples with no dance experience master a fully choreographed routine in just 2 to 3 sessions.
3. We love those with "two left feet." Even with no prior dance experience, and maybe some hesitation at the start, we can help you feel confident on the dance floor.
There is a dance style to fit every song and personality. Some of the most popular dance styles we teach are as follows:
* Waltz
* Foxtrot
* Tango (Ballroom, American, and Argentine)
* Cha-Cha
* Swing (Lindy, East Coast, West Coast, and Jive)
* Salsa/Mambo
* Rumba
* Two-Step
* Hustle/Disco
* Tap Dance
1. Beyond the First Dance
While most couples focus on the "First Dance," and with good reason, there are other special moments and opportunities to consider including special routines or entrances for the wedding party, father/daughter and mother/son dances, and more.
2. Pricing
It's common for dance studios and instructors increase, if not double, their prices when the word "wedding" is involved. We don't do that. Our on-site format and personalized instruction allow us to keep the costs down. Individual lessons begin at $75 and complete custom wedding dance packages start at $200. Contact us for more information.
3. Regions Served
We have instructors available to meet clients in the greater Los Angeles area and parts of the Inland Empire, Long Beach, and Ventura County.
4. Our Instructors
All of our coaches are patient and trained dancers who enjoy working with clients of all dance (and no dance) backgrounds. Our goal is to keep it simple, fun, and easy.
Our tips for fun and stress-free dancing at your wedding include the following:
1. Keep it short. Even professionals rarely dance to a full 5-minute song. Cutting your music to 1.5 to 3 minutes ensures that every moment is special and memorable. Our instructors can help with music editing, as needed.
2. Pick a song and dance style that suits you. Most people think of a traditional waltz when they imagine a wedding dance. However, if that's not your style, choose something upbeat, modern, or otherwise nontraditional. If you haven't yet selected a special song, contact us or check out our song and styles for ideas that fit your vision and personality.
3. Start early. Ideally, couples begin to plan and learn 4 to 6 months before the first day. However, our personalized approach can help ease the stress and help you shine even in 1 or 2 sessions in the weeks before the event.
4. Remember your location, shoes, and dress. Is your reception inside or outside? What type of floor and space will be available? Is the style of the event formal, casual, vintage, traditional? What will you be wearing and how might that enhance and/or hinder your dancing? Our instructors ask these and other important questions to plan for a success.
5. Give your DJ/MC and wedding coordinator clear directions. Should the song be played in full? Should the music start before or after you walk on the floor? Giving the DJ a pre-cut version of the music and sharing specific instructions will ensure your song is played as planned and practiced. Also, be sure to talk with your photographer/videographer to be sure that the special moment is captured.
6. Get help. Wedding planning can be packed with details and stress. Make dancing a highlight of the planning process and the event with professional assistance.
