Introduction: I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist offering both traditional and holistic approaches to working with adults, couples, families, adolescents and children. My areas of focus include assisting individuals and couples with working through intimacy and relationship communication challenges, phase of life or major life transitions, childhood traumas, and pain around grief and loss. In addition to utilizing traditional, psychodynamic and cognitive therapy tools, I also combine my extensive training in the creative arts and somatic psychotherapies, such as Mindfulness Meditation therapy, Sensory Motor Psychotherapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Jungian and Imaginal Psychology. My expertise in utilizing Somatic Psychotherapy tools in the therapy room, tends to enhance the therapeutic experience for my clients, often resulting in a faster relief of symptoms, such as anxiety and depression.
I am also an Internationally Authorized Somatic Movement Therapist and the founder of THERAPY OF MOTION. My work over the last 15 years has included creating and facilitated feminine empowerment and body-oriented therapy workshops for the support of women's psychological health and overall wellbeing.
What Daphne's clients have said about her:
"Daphne helps me to be me. She creates an incredibly open, safe fertile ground/space where my being can play deep, heal, and then teach me. Daphne is completely present with me and I feel so whole-heartedly listened to, witnessed, and affirmed. Sometimes she sees me better than I see myself. Our work together has gotten me through life lessons that felt overwhelming, in a way that became poetic, sweet, and filled with light!"
