FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When you are looking for the right SAT or PSAT reading and writing tutor for your child, ask the potential tutor to show you his or her past results. Did his or her students' scores improve? If so, by how much? What is that tutor's track record? Also, be careful before enrolling your child into an SAT prep program at a local academy. Many of these academies claim they have Ivy League instructors, or claim they have a solid SAT reading and writing prep course that will improve your child's reading and writing scores. In truth, they are lying. I have found this to be especially true of small academies that cater to the Asian communities--Korean, mainland Chinese, and to a lesser extent, the Taiwanese communities in the San Gabriel Valley. So, be diligent about how you spend your hard-earned money. Ask them about past results. Ask them if they keep records of their students' score improvements. Ask them if you can talk to the SAT prep instructor to find out what his or her curriculum is and how his or her lesson plan works. Ask them how they help a student correct mistakes the student makes on practice tests. When your child works with me, you will get great answers to all of the above questions. Why? Because I have 100% confidence in the program I have developed. Your child will learn more from me in less time than from other tutors and academies. I CARE about your child's progress and I have excellent, powerful strategies I have developed to maximize your child's progress. Most importantly, I tailor my curriculum to your child's strengths and weaknesses and teach him or her an active way to approach the SAT critical reading and writing sections. I have the proof--data of my prior students' score improvements--that I would be happy to show you. The creators of the SAT and PSAT claim that test prep is a waste of time because at most, your child's scores will improve by 20-30 points. They are right, in terms of the other prep programs out there. They obviously have not heard of me nor my students' progress. Call me for a free consultation, and I guarantee, you will be impressed.
