I needed plumbing work done to re-install a compression valve that was leaking due to bad copper piping since the ring is busted when tightened. He ended up using a hacksaw to cut about an inch of copper pipe and ended up not cutting straight. He also didn't deburr and even used an old ring plus Teflon tape to tighten. The leak slowed from an initial drip to slight dampness over a few minutes of paper towel test. He says it's fine and that he can come back if it leaks. I might have to call an actual plumber to redo the copper piping after all for peace of mind. He's an electrician that can do handy work but doesn't mean he can do quality plumbing work. Lesson learned.
