I contacted Karen last year to take care of my cat Bryan while we were away in Peru for 2 weeks during the holidays. Karen was able to accomodate specific instructions concerning bryan and even went out of her way to give me an affordable price for a twice a day visit. I was initially impressed with how thorough Karen was! She has a professional form to fill out so you can put all of the specific details about your pet and their care on paper. This was particularly helpful for me since I wanted to make sure all of the details about Bryan were outlined. The form even includes a section so you can put any other items beyond pet care that you may require while away. I needed the mail collected, garbage taken out, delivered packages brought in, garden watered and house plant care. Karen went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. I recently moved from Carmichael to Folsom and asked Karen to cat sit again for a week while I was out of state. She was able to drop by before I left town to discuss the particulars of the new house and visit with Bryan. Both times Karen has taken care of Bryan I have been please with her work. She emailed me status updates while I was out of the country and texted me updates while I was out of state. This was very comforting to me because I was missing my boy! On both occassions our flights were delayed and/or cancelled making our return day/time prolonged. Karen was able to drop back by the house and care for Bryan on short notice due to the flight problems which was a relief during a stressful time for us! Karen is absolutely the best! We could not be more pleased with her. We will continue to seek her assistance every time we need a pet sitter for sure!

Susan is wonderful with animals. She is a highly trained professional who loves what she is doing. With her knowledge skills, humane society and fostering experience, she is able to care for pets with medical needs or who require a little extra attention. Her dog training skills are excellent and she can continue or help you enhance your dog's obedience training routine. I highly recommend her. I have previously worked with neighbors and family-friends in the position of taking care of their animals and homes while they were away on vacation or at work. While taking care of their pets and cleaning people's homes I respect the occupant's homes and their specific directions . I never raid the refrigerator (unless notified that it was okay when they hired me!). I never have friends over - they hired me to clean their house, not to party in their absence. I don't smoke in their home, even if I know they are smokers, because I don't smoke. It is not my thing. I don't go through their things. I am prompt, and I complete all tasks they have asked me to do. While I do these things I make sure the animal is at it's happiest. There is no dull moment when I am with an animal.

I have 40 years of experience with children of all ages. I had my own day care for 17 years. I did 6 years of foster care. I cleaned homes for 5 years. I am also available for pet and house sitting.

Im devoted to the animals needs

We stand out because we are doing it for the love of animals and to teach responsibility to the next generation.

With over 5 years of professional animal care and handling experience, I'm able to provide you with walking, professional-level bathing (and grooming if you have the equipment), sitting and some behavioral training services. I am willing to work with all breeds of dogs (I strongly suggest myself to Pit owners), cats, and equine. I'm also willing to remove any unwanted animals from your property without doing any damage to the animal or your property. I don't have a solid rate on anything, I'm very considerate depending on your financial state. I promise to treat your animal as if it were my own and that means, they'll be smothered with love.

I will stay at your house and take care of your plants while you travel and enjoying yourself worry free. I do pet sitting and lawn and plant care.

I take care of animals. I do walking, feeding, playing, and babysitting. I can do anything you need for your animal!

I will take care of your pets while you are away, so you can have a good time on a trip without being worried about your pets. I will send you pictures, and you can always call.

I am a homemaker. I would love to help taking the dogs for the walk or feed the pets while you are on vacation.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does boarding a horse cost?

Finding the right horse boarding location is a big step in a horse owner’s life. This will be the place your horse will live and where you will visit multiple times per week or even daily. The cost of horse boarding will depend on the level of service you desire, the location of the stables, and the luxury level of the property. Here are some examples of average horse boarding costs:

    • Overnight stabling: $30 per horse per night.
    • Partial boarding (owner feeds and mucks): $220 per horse per month, with a three-month commitment.
      • Administration of oral medication: $10 per dose.
      • Bandaging: $20 per event, plus cost of materials.
      • Trailering to vet if owner is unable: $25, plus $25 per hour to wait with horse.
    • Basic full boarding: $325-$350 per month per horse. Includes twice daily hay and daily stall cleaning.
      • Horse training: $20 per session.
      • Pasture turn out: $20 per session.
      • Blanketing: $1 per day/$30 per month.
      • Vet or farrier hold: $20. This means haltering the horse and standing with it as it receives treatment or shoeing.

Where can I board my horse?

You can board your horse at any barn or stable that provides horse boarding services. To find horse boarding near you, read reviews of area locations and speak with equestrian friends to find one with a solid reputation. Ideally, the location will be within a reasonable drive from your home or office. This is especially important if you are paying for partial boarding services and are responsible for feeding your horse and cleaning its stall each day. You may choose your boarding barn or stables based on the services they provide. Some offer more extensive amenities — at an added price — that reduce the amount of work you need to do to keep your horse comfortable. Consider whether you want training, blanketing, exercise and other perks in addition to standard offerings like hay and stable mucking. Your stable may have temperament requirements and proof that your horse has the proper vaccinations required by your state. This protects both your horse and the other horses in the stable. Many states require that locations offering horse boarding services have stable licenses that are renewed each year. Always be sure to enter into a clearly written boarding contract that will cover your horse and belongings in case of accident, and remember our tips for smart hiring.

    What is horse boarding?

Horse boarding is like rental housing for your horse. Horse boarding is helpful for people who don’t have the space or the resources to install and maintain a stable on their property. A horse can be housed in a barn with other horses and receive the care they need. Owners can visit their horse for riding, grooming, training, etc. Horse boarding services may vary based on the company and the price. Some horse boarders may offer short-term boarding of 24 hours to several nights for people passing through an area, while most offer boarding by the month for horses whose owners live in the area. There is partial- and full-service boarding, which indicates how much of the work of feeding the horse and cleaning the stall is the responsibility of the owner rather than the boarding barn. For an added fee, horse boarding can also include grooming services, riding and training, medication administration, and more.

To find the right boarding fit for you and your horse, make a list of your top priorities. These might include immediate access to riding trails, round-the-clock supervision, or a nearby or affiliated veterinarian. Always visit the site to learn exactly where your horse will be kept and whether the barn and grounds are in good condition. Read reviews, and always practice smart hiring. It’s also critical to sign the proper legal documents that protect both you and your horse, such as boarding agreements. Above all, make sure it seems like a place your horse will be comfortable between your visits.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
