At last in Sushanta I have found a perfect SAT tutor. In the very first session he pinpointed my weak spots. Over the next few sessions we worked on those weaknesses. I feel much more confident now. Thank you Sushanta for your fantastic job.
We are thrilled with the help that our daughter received from Mrs. Buck! She went into the SAT feeling confident and well-prepared!
Archie helped prep my daughter for not one but two SAT exams. Our overall experience with Archie was wonderful, as he is always prompt, kind, and helpful. Every penny spent is worth it, he helped my daughter understand all the materials and motivated her to excel. Will totally be keeping in touch with him in the future, he's a highly knowledgable tutor! I would Highly recommend him!
Marylee has been great with my daughter. She is kind, patient, and focused. She targets the skill areas that need work and develops a specific plan to help each student. I look forward to her continued tutoring this school year.
Elizabeth is feeling more confident with algebra and chemistry, exactly what i was hoping for. Thank you!
Very helpful and prompt. I recommend College Choice Today for any test prep and also they provide additional college prep services that I am planning on using.
DD Levine is the best math tutor ever! Each Saturday she gets on Skype with my 8th grade son, helping him to make sense of the advanced math he faces at his prep school. As a self-described "humanities kid," math is not my kid's strong suit. It's not mine, either. So I was thrilled to find DD. She is patient around various different learning styles, she is intuitive and knows exactly where in a problem my son is having a hard time understanding, and she enthusiastically finds work to challenge my son. I cannot rave enough about her! My son has seen his math scores go up, but perhaps more importantly, he has a new confidence around math that even his math instructor has commented on, several times. Plus, he doesn't have the anxiety-based "math freak outs" that he used to. This alone, has made DD's tutoring so valuable. We've had such a positive experience with DD that my 6th grade son is now working with her. Thank you so much, DD!!!
I am a dedicated tutor who works carefully to tailor lessons to individual students, using flash cards, informal questioning, computer activities (Quizlet, quia.com), etc. I do tutoring for my school--I teach 10th grade and 10th grade honors English-- and I have tutored and helped English students with paper editing and CAHSEE and CST, ACT, and SAT Prep. This past school year, I tutored English for a middle school student, and I also helped three high seniors prepare-and score highly-on ACT and SAT tests. These students make it seven high school/middle school students I've tutored in English/test prep (I also tutor Spanish). For example, in September/October of 2014, I tutored a high school senior who was preparing for her second SAT test. Our approximately eight weeks of work together resulted in an 80 point jump in her verbal/writing score. My test prep includes vocabulary building, computer exercises using the College Board website, and guided practice with immediate feedback.
I have Bachelors of Arts degree in Math / Secondary Education from University of California, San Diego. I have an experience as tutor / apprentice at several middle schools and as a teaching assistant at San Jose City College. I have had great experiences and an opportunity to work with students of diverse cultures. I have tutored and can tutor K-12 math, science (except physics), college-level calculus, and prep for ACT and SAT tests in mathematics. Teaching is a passion for me. I find that with one-on-one tutoring, students are able to ask more questions and stay focused longer. I love the moment when I witness that the student really understood the concept I am trying to teach. I provide students with variety of problem solving methods, and strive to help them learn. My greatest value to the students is that I provide the necessary background on the subject and the necessary tools for the students to be successful.
I can teach Korean very well. I also speak some Spanish. I can guide you to the world of SAT math and grammar. I can also read music, so I can teach piano.
I offer private tutoring in a variety of subjects: English (reading, writing, grammar, and phonics), SAT and ACT prep, and German. I am credentialed in both English and German. Although I was raised in the US, my mother is a native German, and my family speaks German at home. Therefore, I have been fluent in German my whole life. I also love knitting and have sold many of my items. If you are interested in learning a new and very satisfying hobby, I can teach you! I enjoy working with students of all ages, from elementary school to college and beyond.
