Paul was very professional about my case and explained everything in detail. I would highly recommend him to take of anyone’s needs as an attorney. He was very easy to work with. I spoke to many other attorneys and even dropped one to higher Paul after I already gave the other attorney a non refundable deposit to start my case. He explained the process to us and was very helpful understanding it through out. Definitely someone you want to talk to and consider very highly to hire on as your attorney Milan

I consulted with Chris on my case and although I went with another attorney, Chris was very responsive and professional when we spoke on the phone. He listened to my concerns and followed up after our initial consultation. I called dozens of law firms all pushing for bankruptcy, which was not the way I wanted to go with my case. Chris was one of only two attorneys I spoke with who offered to look at the paperwork and review my options. I'm glad there are still good attorneys out there willing to fight for consumers. Thank you, Chris!

Laureen helped me patent my invention and obtained a trade mark for me. She was fast and professional and really knew her stuff. I talked to several attorneys before hiring Laureen but they seemed to be guessing on what to do. Laureen knew exactly what to do and it was done fast and professionally. Thanks Laureen.

I hired Deccan Law for my divorce, and attorney Amey was excellent. He kept me informed throughout the process, was very knowledgeable about the intricacies of the law, and really cared that I was ok and was getting a fair and good result. I would absolutely recommend Deccan Law for any legal issue.

Finally an honest Attorney who goes out of his way to help you. He represented me on a couple of cases , With out even knowing me He filed my case the very next day even though i had not yet paid him and told him I could not pay him for a couple weeks . Those weeks turned into months but he still kept plugging away and getting it done (Yes i paid Him )and he also won the Case I have no trust in attorneys for the most part they are just Thief's with suits . Jeff is as Honest as can be you will never meet an attorney or human being like him in your lifetime I like the fact that if he is not familiar with a certain procedure he tells you instead of bullshitting to get your Money . I highly recommend this Lawyer and no I'm not a family member but extremely pleased client

      About

Welcome to the Law Office of Roseann DeRosa. I am an estate planning and probate attorney, assisting individuals and families with conservatorship proceedings, trusts, wills, and probate administration.

      About

I'm an Orange County attorney with 35 years of experience. I work in the area of DUI including DMV and court hearings for criminal defense, from arraignment to trial. The government will work their hardest to convict all defendants, and you need an attorney who knows how to protect your rights and defend you against government persecution. For writs of mandate for PC 290, please contact the office for questions regarding this limited writ. I also work on personal injury. From the moment you are injured, the insurance company initiates their campaign against you. Even your own insurance company becomes your enemy. The Adjuster's main job is to keep the injured party from contacting an attorney. The sooner you retain an attorney, the sooner your rights can be protected and enforced. I also offer estate planning. Protect your assets and avoid probate court.

      About

My paralegal and I are both Christians with many years of experience in Family Law and the related cases that sometimes arise within the case, due to the complexity of issues in family law......all that is important to you is on the line....what is more important to you than your home, your family, your children, your career, your money??? We are mature adults who understand the importance of these things. I was the first administrator/director of the LA County Bar Domestic Violence Project in the LA Superior Court. I was able to work with law enforcement, including speaking at a few of the roll calls, and other events. I trained attorneys and law students in dealing with clients in the traumas involved in the family break up. I enjoy seeing a person...man or woman, who comes in feeling defeated and lost...having the potential of losing all that is important to the client. What is more important to you than your family...your children,,,your home...your finances..? Grow and get through this trauma, and adjust to the changes that are inevitable in this situation...as Christians,, we do not discourage attempts to reconcile, or work things out, so long as the relationship is not dangerous to the parties or children. Then seeing them moving on, getting on with their lives, and hopefully remaining close in relationship so the children can feel comfortable expressing love for both parents.. I am divorced from a very nice man with whom I went to law school. We are good friends, and it is my hope that we can get the hostility out of our clients, so the children can be free of guilt for loving both of them. I grew up in a family in which that worked...as did it with my first husband, who with his wife is a dear friend. What is more important than our homes and families and spiritual values? I pray that my clients and their spouses can bless their children and others with their friendship that caused them to get married in the first place...assuming that violence, or mistreatment is not involved.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What kind of lawyer does wills?

No one likes talking about death, but it’s better than leaving your children or siblings to sort out your estate. A clearly planned will can make the time of mourning easier for everyone. An estate attorney will develop a legal will, create trusts on your behalf, and ensure the proper execution of your estate after you pass away.

Family attorneys and estate attorneys, also called probate and wills attorneys, can each prepare wills. The type of lawyer best suited to prepare your will depends on your situation. Most family attorneys provide services to prepare basic wills, including bequeathing property and personal items to family or naming a guardian for minor children. However, estate attorneys specialize in preparing wills in more complex situations. Consider hiring an estate attorney if you:

      • Have a large number of assets, especially those subject to estate taxes
      • Want to create a trust, such as allowing a spouse to live in your home until he or she dies and then leaving it to your children, or set up long-term care for a beneficiary
      • Have an ownership stake in a business
      • Expect someone to contest your will
      • Want to disinherit your spouse

How much does it cost to have a living will?

Either a family attorney or an estate, or wills, attorney can help you prepare a living will, either as part of your general estate planning or as an individual document. The cost typically ranges from $250 to $500, depending on your attorney’s fees; some charge by the hour, while others have a flat rate for writing a living will. Some states require living wills to be notarized, which adds an average of $5 to $15. In a living will — also called an advanced healthcare directive — you specify whether you want to be kept on life support if you become terminally ill or lapse into a persistent vegetative state. You can also answer other important questions in a living will like your preferences for tube feeding, artificial hydration and pain medication in situations when you cannot communicate your wishes on your own.

How do you find a good lawyer for wills?

Estate planning is an important part of financial planning, so it’s important to find the right attorney to prepare your will. Although most family attorneys can put together a basic will, you may want one who specializes in wills and estate planning, especially if you have a lot of assets or a dependent to take care of. You may need an attorney who has expertise in planning and executing trusts and a background in taxes. Ask how the attorney charges; some charge by the hour, others have a set fee for writing wills, and some charge a percentage of the total value of the estate. Make a list of several potential wills attorneys to interview. Make sure you make a strong personal connection with your attorney — you need to be comfortable telling him or her personal, confidential information about your life, and you need to feel that the attorney is committed to solving any problems that may arise while writing your will. Also find out how long the attorney has practiced estate law and whether he or she has handled wills similar to yours.

How much should an estate plan cost?

The cost of an estate plan depends largely on the number of parts it includes and the complexity of the documents. The most basic estate plan is simply a will, but it may also include designating power of attorney or a health care proxy to another person, writing a living will, or making a HIPAA authorization. The average national cost to make an estate plan ranges from $350 to $900, but can cost much more in complicated situations. For example, an estate attorney may charge only $900 to prepare a basic will providing outright distribution — meaning that property and assets are distributed upon death. Writing a more complicated will and holding assets in trusts can cost $3,000, or more. The process of creating an estate plan generally takes two to four weeks, starting with the initial consultation with the wills attorney to identify areas of concern in order to design an estate plan that fits your goals and budget. Once an estate plan is written, the attorney meets with the clients, a notary, and two neutral witnesses to review and sign the plan and associated documents.
