- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate for accent modification training is $100/hr My hourly rate for presentation coaching is also $100/hr The cost of a speech improvement assessment is $149. I offer a 10% discount on bundled packages of 8 sessions or more. If you have any questions or concerns about my pricing, please don't hesitate to ask. I want to ensure that my services are accessible and affordable for all of my clients.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
ABOUT SESSIONS: Kelly will provide sessions that are: custom-tailored to your specific speech & pronunciation goals. You will receive immediate feedback throughout the entire session. Each session will address one target sound or feature (in a variety of contexts); and use high-frequency vocabulary–relevant to your daily activities! You can expect to experience things like: listening drills, sound/word level drills, reading exercises and conversational activities. Vocabulary is personalized to your professional and/or educational goals so that you can speak clearly and naturally in your everyday life. Afterwards, homework is assigned (per your request) to help you continue practicing what you’ve just learned. HOW LONG 'TIL YOU SEE IMPROVEMENT? -You can expect to experience improvement your very first session! You can expect for others to notice your improvement within your first 4-6 sessions. Naturally, results will vary based on: -your baseline skills -your willingness to regularly implement what you’re learning -your motivation to practice regularly Clients who make the most improvement are the ones who: -keep a consistent training schedule (which includes daily at-home practice). Each coaching session is designed to maximize your learning & success. DO YOU NEED AN ASSESSMENT? In order to see improvements quickly, you need an approach that has been personalized to your unique strengths and weaknesses. An assessment is the first step in the process! An assessment helps you: ✅Identify your weaknesses ✅Prioritize what & how you practice 🏆Achieve your goals faster! HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NEEDED? This depends on the results from your assessment. The assessment protocol will identify and rate your current accent against your desired accent (e.g. a standard American accent). Kelly will then analyze the accent features phonetically and determine the degree of variance between your current speech patterns and your overall goal. This information will be used to determine the number of sessions required to address your unique speaking needs. In general, 12-15 sessions are recommended in order to start noticing meaningful and long-lasting changes in your speaking skills.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Kelly is a certified Accent Modification Specialist (The Accent Channel Method). She's also been a California state licensed Speech Language Pathology Assistant for almost 10 years. Kelly graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Speech-Language and Hearing Disorders from California State University of Sacramento. Kelly has an extensive knowledge of: language-development, articulation, phonetics, phonology, and the anatomy and physiology of the speech and hearing mechanisms. She’s also highly skilled in helping individuals improve their non-verbal communication skills (e.g., facial expressions and body language). Her areas of expertise include: speech improvement, accent refinement, improved speech intelligibility, effective pronunciation strategies, increased self-awareness & confidence, stronger communication skills both socially & professionally. Please note: Kelly specializes in presentation training and accent modification. She does not provide clinical services. Her clients will not undergo speech-language diagnosis or participate in any speech-language therapy. It’s important to note that accent modification is not intended for individuals with speech disorders or speech-language impairments. If you feel you may have a speech disorder or impairment, we recommend seeking out a licensed speech-language pathologist for further evaluation and treatment.
