We hired Cruz to trap, proof, and clean up mice and skunk in our crawl space and garage because of all the great reviews on Thumbtack. He just finished the main job and will come back next week to do a final check. We had an extensive problem and he did an excellent job. From the first onsite consultation to all the subsequent visits, Cruz did high quality work, was professional, respected our home, and worked around our schedule. He's also flexible to meet our additional asks: He filled in some holes in our deck foundation where we had seen skunk activity after we asked him; we also just asked him to do some more clean up in one part of the garage and he says he will when he comes back next week. Lastly, he stands by his work; he stressed that if we see any more rodent droppings in the future he will come back.
Great! Ricardo arrived a bit early, we got to work replacing 3 faucets. We soon realized we needed a short plumbing extension so o went and got it while Ricardo finished the rest. The whole job done in an hour.
Noel was really good and thorough with his work! He very swiftly fixed our window and finished it very well. He also helped us to instal a few pendant lights and did the job well! Thanks a lot. I highly recommend working with him.
Sandy arrived at the agreed-upon time, worked efficiently, and finished within the 2 hours he had estimated it would take. I'd certainly hire him for any other tasks he feels he could do.
Had some rot around the side entrance to my garage. I could see that it went beyond just the door frame. Working six days a week made Sunday the only time I could be around. No problem for Fred. Came over punctually, had all the necessary tools and material ready to go. We had spoken about the job in length before, and so he even had a new door ready to go on the first trip out. Replaced the door, frame, and a portion of the mud sill. He did it all from the inside, so there was no extensive repair on the siding. He had the whole thing done in about 4 hours. He was going to come back once the sheetrock mud dried and finish painting the wall and trim, but he had already saved me so much time and money I felt guilty. I like to paint anyhow, so I just did it myself the next day. Great job!
Pros: Jasper was prompt in responding, punctual, friendly, and completed the work quickly. I was impressed that he finished this project in one day; whereas other contractors seemed to indicate it was more work and more difficult. I would hire him again. Some areas he can improve: There were a couple of minor areas that were knicked on our kitchen island that I didn't notice until cleaning up. Also, I think he could have done a little better cleaning up the island- wiping down the cabinet fronts that had a light layer of dust (I did this myself). Finally, I gave him a box of stain & top coat that the previous owners left to us. He applied them but I noticed they didn't leave the counter shiny, like the finish we had before he sanded. After Jasper left, my husband realized we were missing the water sealant coat which we had in the garage. So now we are applying this coat ourselves to make the island water- proof and give it the same shine. This isn't totally Jasper's fault since I gave him the supplies but I would have liked if he would have noted that something seemed to be missing or off (or given his recommendations on what he would have stained/sealed it with to make sure the wood stayed water proof.) Overall, I'm happy with the work.
Mauricio is very dedicated to his work, very honest with full disclosure and keeps to his word. He is delightful to work with and knows what he is doing. The project is not finished (90% complete) but with so little left to do, I can say the project is EXCELLENT!! I would recommend Mauricio to anyone wanting satisfaction with a job well done.
Vyron was prompt, professional and cleaned up well upon finishing the home project for us. I would recommend to friends.
We were remodeling our kitchen and needed someone to install under cabinet lighting with short notice. Bogdan was available the same day we setup the project on Thumbtack. Bogdan was creative in coming up with a solution that concealed both the driver and the wiring. He was also diligent about finishing the project within the time constraint.
Rudy from PERFECT MATCH PAINTING came to the house and gave a free estimate. He was able to start working right away to start the job. The patch work was amazing. He was able to finish everything in record time. I would highly recommend him!
I highly recommend this company. Victor was extremely professional, job was done to perfection, very few people provide you with receipts of material used, he had every receipt. Job was finished on time, his employees are respectful and concentrated on the job. I am very pleased with final outcome, will hire them again for future projects, recommended him to family and friends.
I had a challenging renovation project to trim out some doors and windows because every surface was irregular. After reviewing work from many general carpenters, it was clear these guys had real finish carpentry skills. For each window and door, they took the time to figure out the best way to approach and then did super high quality work and now everything looks great. Pricing was also very competitive. Hoping to use Barsesat for a cabinet project in the near future.
Jose and his team (including his wife - family business - thumbs up) did a fantastic job with our cabinet refinishing project. The reason I went with Big Guy Painting is that I could tell right away that it was important to Jose that the job be done right. He’s a perfectionist and has the skill and experience to make sure the job does indeed turn out perfectly. Near factory look finish from old grimy cabinets. We did a lot of research on perhaps doing it ourselves, but are very glad we went with these pros on this project. Not sure if these pics do it full justice, but see old grimy, and new sparkly cabinets.
Diego and his wife were absolutely wonderful to work with. They were quick to respond to my initial inquiry and any and all questions I had throughout the process. Diego did a phenomenal job taking my space from a light gray to a rich blue and the finished product is everything I was hoping for. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone else.
Wonderful young man. I had the wrong date. He showed up on time and is very knowledgeable. I hired him to put the finish on my table. He is so accommidodating and is giving me a choice of finishes. Glad I used him. He is an asset to Thumbtack.
I cannot explain how grateful I am to have met Economy Home repair through this app. They were fast, friendly, and the service was impeccable. I had recently been working to restore a 1912 Craftsman style bungalow in Oakland, and then accepted a job in another state. Bad planning for me, but luckily I had Thumbtack and Economy Home Repair there for me. They we're first contracted to remove the aluminum siding that was wrapped around the house, then, we needed them to fix or replace any damaged shingles from the original siding, and then lay a coat of paint over it all! They got that done in a couple weeks!! Later on, I needed their help to finish up some tile work, and to put up some Sheetrock in the 2nd floor. They got that done with no hesitation. Again, I cannot be more grateful for that team. They deserve 100 stars.
We had Ryan over yesterday to repair 3 interior doors in a very old and actually historic San Franciscan Victorian house. In addition to the three interior doors, Ryan painted the front door which had also just been replaced. His attention to detail was great, there were constant adjustments to make sure everything fit, latched, matched, didn't drag, looked great, etc. His response was prompt, he replied almost immediately and was available to start the very next day. He came prepared for the job, from start to finish. Ryan is very up front and fair in terms of compensation. You will have zero issue with the transparency and fairness of his bids. It should also be noted that this is a very old building. The areas where the door hinges connected to the wall/door frame were extremely dilapidated, the wood was old and and over drilled. It was like putty. But Ryan rocked it. Not only did Ryan pay close attention to the style of the Victorian building and matched the details perfectly, his finished product was seamless. You can't even tell that work had been done. There wasn't even dust on the floor. It was legit, honest good work. 100% recommend.
Chris and his team put a second bathroom in my apartment in SF. It required quite a bit of planning and they executed the project very smoothly and the finished product is excellent. I also had an emergency project that they completed for me in a very short time window, which was much appreciated. Highly Recommend!
DK was AWESOME! This was my first experience with Thumbtack. I did not know what to expect, and I thought everyone that worked through Thumbtack was licensed. I had made arrangements with someone else to do the work, but when I found out he was not licensed, I needed someone else. DK reached out to me and when reading his reviews and profile. Having a profile listing with his license is what made everything so much easier. I was pressed for time, and DK checked off all my "boxes". I am up late, so he got to my place at midnight. We both thought the other had already fallen asleep so after a good laugh, he got started. I was extremely impressed with how down to earth, easy going, and has had enough experience to know what to improvise, when, and where if needed. I paid him half for his work, and left while the mudding cured. The next night, he came and finished. Reliability and trust are earned, and valued universally. I can rely on DK for my future work, and trust he will do a great job. As he will for you too.
I hired CFI Construction to frame a new 501 sq ft building on our property to be used as a sewing studio. Today, they started and finished framing the walls, and enclosing the entire building with shear panels. Next week, when the trusses arrive, they are going to install them and install roof shearing. I learned of CFI two days ago on Thumbtack. Having observed their work today, I feel like the A team just fell out of the sky into my project. They are phenomenal in every respect. Their work, honesty, and work ethic are models for the construction industry. They have years of experience framing large projects, both residential and commercial. I was humbled that they chose to work on my project. They are not solely a framing company. They can build a building from start to finish, I just happened to hire them for framing. Having enjoyed today's experience, I'm going to use them for more phases of our project. Both the owner of the company (Steve) and one of his sons (Drew) were on site the entire day, as well as their crew of 5 framers. I wanted to write this review now, even though they still have trusses to install and the front porch to frame, because I want other users of Thumbtack to have the same benefit of a 1st class, licensed, professional construction company, as I did today. I strongly recommend that you seek out CFI Construction for your projects. They are the real deal. Thank you Steve and Drew.
Hayley Ferreira is a sensitive, elegant artist whose work respects her clients vision while demonstrating the full breadth of her experience, skill and knowledge. The murals she creates can make an ordinary house exceptional. My house in San Francisco has an upstairs bedroom that covers the entire top floor. It has cathedral walls and I wanted to decorate one with an ancient Roman fresco from the Pompeii area, the Primavera di Stabiae. I contacted Hayley Ferreira of Ferreira Designs through the Website Find-a-Muralist, after reviewing some of her work online. Hayley was wonderful! She came out to my home and looked over the space, which climbed to 12 feet at its peak, as well as at my printouts of the fresco image. She took pictures and measurements, and listened carefully to my description of how I envisioned the fresco would be transferred to the wall, allowing for the proper scaling, the necessity of extending the original across a much wider horizontal axis, and the adjustments around my closet doors and fixtures. She explained various materials and options for painting, and recommended a limestone paint that would capture the antique feel of the original fresco. We discussed costs and she was up-front and candid about what could be done with my budget. Hayley was also very accommodating on the timeframe. I had a lot of apprehension about the job, since Ive never had a mural painted before, but she made the process very easy. Overall, she was a pleasure to work with and completely professional. The actual painting took about 4-5 days, with Hayley and her assistant coming to my house while I was at work. The intrusion on my space was minimal and my cats were always calm when I got home. The result is fabulous! The finished fresco is dramatic, vivid and perfectly appropriate to the space and my house. I am so happy with my mural, which glows with color and transforms my bedroom into a unique private garden. Hayleys skill is such that she was able to capture the cracking and fading of the original fresco, which was something I especially wanted. I also asked Hayley to paint my dresser to echo the fresco. Its now a charming companion piece to the fresco, featuring antiqued garlands on the drawers. Working with Hayley was a terrific experience! I highly recommend her.
