Working with Richard has been such a terrific experience! I was looking for a handyman that can help me with various projects around the house. He was able to help assess several of my concerns around the house and prioritize what needed to be worked on first.
The first project was rebuilding shelves in a hallway closet. They were terribly warped and had no support to keep them from tipping forward. They were practically unusable. Richard came in and completely reworked the shelving within a couple of days. I am beyond pleased with the quality of his work. The shelves are now fully functional and will last a lifetime.
I highly recommend hiring Richard. Beyond being a master at his craft(s), he is a true gentleman. He is puntual, kind and professional. He even brought frisbees for my dog which she has been obsessed playing with!
I look forward hiring him for future projects!

He does not over promise, acknowledges what type of projects he could deliver on and articulated they ones where he had limited experience.

I've know and used Richard Hanway for over 10 years, and it's been such a relief to have his help during this time. He's honest and hard working. He has extensive knowledge and experience about so many aspects and issues of house and yard, including knowledge of the correct materials to use (for example, marine board for a new exterior trapdoor). I've happily used him for door adjustments, minor plumbing and electrical, various installations, caulking and dry rot repair, outside pathways, and emergencies. He's also just a lovely person to know.

Richard has done a ton of work for me over many years, from installing closet systems to painting to repairing things. He can even do electrical and plumbing work, and build a back yard shed. He is a perfectionist so the end result is great. And he has a sense of humor so he’s nice to have around. He’s kind to pets and small children too. I highly recommend him!
