Lot's of our married friends suggested that we try pre-marital counseling as it was a good experience for them so we decided to give it a try. We had a great first visit with Steve, he's very knowledgeable and patient, he makes the concepts easy to understand and is quick to respond. We look forward to seeing him again for future sessions.
He was wonderful! He is very professional and seeks to help the couple all along the planning process through to your wedding day. What's stands out is how much he truly cares about you. You can tell he does this with the intention of helping couples. He also did premarital counseling for us and we truly made a friend in him. He is a real friend who is there whenever you need him most. When a mistake was made on our marriage license (not his mistake), he was there to help work it out for us without hesitation. Overall, he was knowledgeable, helpful, and truly cares about the people he works with. We were lucky to have him as our counselor and wedding officiant. We highly suggest him!
We asked Pastor Timothy to officiate our wedding after having attended the church for about a year. Timothy and his wife took us in right away and went through marriage counseling in preparation for our marriage. On the actual wedding day he did such a nice job of honoring marriage and the Lord through his words. He gave a great message and everyone had great things to say about it! We appreciate all the work he put into preparing for our big day. Thank you, Timothy!
JoEllen was wonderful to work with. We had her officiate our wedding ceremony, and it was perfect! She is very knowledgeable and so sweet! At the last minute we decided to add in prayers and blessings, and she was more then happy to accommodate. Even after the fact, there have been some hiccups with our marriage license and JoEllen has been there to help us along the way. We are so glad we got to have her be apart of such a big day in our lives.
Pastor Steve officiated our wedding ceremony and my husband and I are so blessed and grateful to have met him and his wife Doris. Pastor Steve was very attentive to our hearts and the vision we had for our wedding day. Not only did he help us plan an amazing wedding ceremony but, he offered fatherly counsel, encouragement, and prayers that we greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless you, Pastor Steve!!

I'm proud to say we were the first couple to be married by Freedom To Be!!! They really listened and incorporated our wishes into our ceremony...everything from writing our vows with input from us and including our soon to be daughter and making our day special for her. We originally wanted to be married in San Francisco due to our mutual love of the city and the San Francisco Giants so we were fortunate enough to have our ceremony at Crissy Field with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. It was simply beautiful and stress free as Freedom To Be took care of every detail. We would highly recommend Freedom To Be!
The main thing I learned is that marriage is what you make it! The big word here is “create”. The other word that stood out to me was ‘dies’. Stop creating the relationship/connection and it will die. My husband and I are taking this course together. He has discovered that he needs to be more communicative. This is a win for me/us because it’s been very difficult with just myself pushing the communication portion of the relationship! This is exciting because there is more creation that can go on; therefore, more hope of longevity of our relationship! Another thing that I really liked was being open to the fact that we experience different realities – communicating and taking action is a cure to bridge this gap of misunderstandings. I have also had some realizations how I contribute to some of the fallout!
Relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and addictions often have their roots in early experiences, past traumas, and ways of coping that are no longer working. I help individuals and couples move past obstacles that are holding them back and interfering with the ability to enjoy life in the present. Please contact me for a complementary session to see if we might be a good fit.
I come from a very humanistic and systems theory perspective. I believe that we are each on our own journey in search of personal serenity and happiness. I view my job as a therapist to be a guide to support you on your own personal and individualized journey. I have significant experience working with adolescents and youth, both in community and residential care settings. I have experience with the criminal justice and probation populations, families in crisis, and families during their reunification process. I understand that life does not always happen as we plan it or would prefer, and that these bumps on the road affect us each on various levels and in different ways. I will work to empower you to identify and build on your individual and unique strengths in order to overcome struggles, find clarity along your journey, and make progress toward being a more whole and happy individual. I work diligently to ensure a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental environment for my clients.
I have been working with Molly for over six months. I think the best testimonial I can give is how I've referred her to friends of mine. I describe her as very intelligent, funny, compassionate, patient, understanding, knowing and inspired. The book I am working on is quite challenging for me to write. I would usually rather do anything but sit down and work on it. It is a memoir and based on a lot of loss and pain. Molly is fully aware of this and does not push me along but gently guides me to negotiate the project in digestible pieces. She listens to me and where I am coming from vs. her own agenda. Frankly, I don't think she has an agenda for me at all besides to help me do what it is I am driven to do. From my experience this is a rare find in a coach or counselor. She also has lived a life full of love, loss and has experienced trauma deeply which gives her a wisdom that isn't something one can learn from books, they must have walked through the fire. This wisdom allows Molly to seriously know what you are saying when possibly your words are not quite as descriptive as someone without that knowing would understand. All and all I find her to be a jewel of a coach/human to assist me with my writing adventure.

Dr. Paul Joseph Yang is a tireless worker for the gospel of Jesus Christ. He has a heart for the journey of the Hmong in America. His doctoral thesis focuses on a theology of liberation for the Hmong that helps the community find hope, strength and resource through their shared history of Exodus from Laos to the camps in Thailand and after years in the camps, migration to America. Today the children of the Exodus, the 1.5 generation are raising families, seeking a spiritual path and finding their way forward while their children, the second generation are coming of age and achieving amazing success in the new culture. Rev. Yang provides resources for these families in bridging the culture; navigating the relations between elders, parents and children all of whom are struggling to retain important and essential cultural values while also adapting to new mores, gender roles, and the cultural values of this society that can be in stark contrast to traditional understandings. Skilled in navigating these issues, Pastor Yang restores family respect, dignity, unity and self understanding while upholding the value of education, love of neighbor and respect for all. I have worked with Dr. Yang for many years and witnessed his intelligent, competent, faithful diligence on behalf of the Hmong community and transforming hope we have in the good news of Jesus Christ.
