FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of the best dancers that inspire me continue in their training throughout their career. Just as a good surgeon continues to further their education, for example. I will always be training and I educate all of my dancers to do the same, for the rest of their lives. This dance is so rich, so dense, it is Divine/Perfect. Which means it would take more than one lifetime to perfect. Humbleness is also a value that comes from being a perfectionist in this art. I will always continue to pursue higher education in this, my life's passion.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up in the dance world, both western and cultural. It is my life. I discovered Bellydance through Callinetics, then again while attending a special arts scholar program in Oakland at Mills College. I claimed my career as a professional bellydancer, fusion dancer, choreographer, and certified instructor when I became certified by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission. Bellydance is my life's passion. This is what I do, it is not a side job, I do not do anything else, and I do it to the highest degree, always learning more to represent it properly. I have always loved performing and teaching dance and martial arts. I so appreciate the positive image of empowerment Bellydance provides. My goal is to help as many as possible enrich their lives and celebrate with the joy of dance.
