Mary Connerley says, "My experience is with CABS overallUpdated below...I had my annual checkup on 5/18/26 and at that time was informed my system wasn't working, I needed to replace a board in it, as an electrical surge had fried the board. I purchased a BOSCH HVAC system, for $25,000+ on 5/9/25, through CABS, and it already needs repair. The board is under warranty and maybe that's why I am not getting the level of service that I expected, so far 19 days without my AC and no idea when it will be fixed, we all know it's heating up in Sacramento. I am being told I need to install a surge protector for the AC and Heating unit, an additional $1113+. My question is if this equipment is so sensitive why wasn't the surge protectors installed at installation? I am stuck using CABS because I purchased the extended service coverage and will have to use their service for 10 years. I haven't heard from them since I called them on 5/29 and am still waiting to hear back about when I can expect my, one year-old air-conditioning system, to be running again. They provided me with the use of a portable air-conditioning system, but it requires it to be cool outside to use it, I live alone and will not leave my windows open at night. I shouldn't have to call CABS to find out what's going on, you think they would care about their customers and follow-up with me.UPDATE: CABS went through a lot to get a replacement part for me. The manufacturer was saying they couldn't get CABS the replacement board until July 1st, thinking outside of the box, to make it happen quicker, CABS purchased an entire new system and took the board out of it and put it in my system, saving me three weeks of no air-conditioning. They also took care of installing surge protectors, so I won't have this problem in the future. Giving me faith that CABS does care about its customers; just in time for the Sacramento heat.Christopher Emmert who came out to install the new board and surge protectors was fabulous. He did it all in 102 degrees and never complained, he was just making sure the job was done quickly and correctly. He is a very valuable addition to the CABS team; knowable, professional, and very customer focused."See more
