FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I am always using Internet and other rescources to update and expand my knowledge on many different hinks. The learning curve is continual.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started working on houses seriously when I owned my first one around 1998. A contractor was hired to re-furbish a house near mine. The finished project was done so cheaply, the owners couldn't sell it for a long time and it finally went for less than it should have. But the contractors bill wasn't cheap, of course. I decided to do mine myself to make sure it was to a high standard. In the end we had 2 offers on the house right away and then one bid 10k more. We sold to the first buyer after they agreed to match the other buyers bid @ 10k over asking. I also found that I liked doing this kind of work too.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My best advice would definitely be; Always, always get more than one estimate for a job and try to ask a few relevant questions just to see if the person actually knows about the work.
