Geo and a member of his team came to clean up our very overgrown garden. Within 2 hours they had trimmed, mowed, and hauled out all yard trimmings. Geo also gave recommendations for how to help the plants we have flourish. We originally only wanted a one time cleanup, but will be using Geo regularly now based on the great work!

I had Rich come to my business and give me an estimate. He arrived on time, and was very professional. I decided to go with Magnificent Landscape Services, because out of all the people that quoted me from thumbtack, he was the only one who was licensed and insured. He spoke fluent English, and not only acted professional he looked professional. I have a pretty large building, and I wanted to make sure he does not subcontract. Magnificent has their own employees, and Rich checks the job site regularly, and he said he even has his own routes he takes care of. I liked that he had a proposal agreement sent over to me by his assistant Sara, by the end of business day for me to review. It was simple, and self explanatory. It is stated exactly what they will be doing, and a set price. I was able to sign it through my email, and Rich and his crew came the next day. I plan on hiring Rich for my home gardening needs, along with my rental properties. Magnificent is GREAT!

Ricardo inspected the work to be done, gave an estimated, fixed a time and showed up punctually to finish all the tasks agreed upon. Very professional. Did not try to sell anything that was not needed rather focused on what was needed. And gracefully brought me up to speed on what needs to be done for proper lawn care. I will definitely hire him again for any landscaping / gardening work

Anthony was very professional and trimmed my overgrown tree to a nice height and started on the rest of my yard. He cleans up and takes all clippings curbside. I look forward to working with him again. I would definitely recommend him as a dependable, reasonably priced Gardner that has a natural passion for trimming trees and gardening.

In his preliminary walk through our garden and yard he demonstrated excellent knowledge of irrigation systems, and gave us lots of useful information of present and future plantings. He is very sharp and knows his business.

We hired Yanez Gardening to do the landscaping and for building a deck for our new home. Raul Jr. and Sr. did an amazing job! They were both very respectful and professional in their approach. Their team worked diligently and finished the project ahead of schedule. They showed up with plants/shrubs and trees to choose from. The deck looks amazing and is very level (tested by the recent rains). The landscaping looks lush. They had a great attitude towards helping in as needed to move some debris out of the way, which was technically our contractor's job. Would definitely hire them again!

Gabriel transformed our yard and helped us prepare the landscaping to be market-ready. He was able to come immediately and gave us a much better price than competitors. The flowers and new sod that he installed not only looked great at the open house, but are actually blooming beautifully (new rose bushes) a month later. We are very happy clients!

Jamie helped us set up a vegetable garden in our backyard. We were clueless , had no idea where to begin. Jamie helped us from picking out raised garden beds , picking out vegetable plants, to planting them and setting up a self sustaining irrigation system . We pretty much just harvest with very little maintenance. Check out our photos

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have landscaping done?

Professional landscaping can help reinvent your outdoor space, boost your curb appeal and get a major return on investment with. Landscaping can encompass anything from adding new plants, trees and shrubs, to leveling the ground and laying sod for a lawn, to building in hardscaping such as sidewalks, water features or retaining walls. The national average landscaping price is $10,160. Landscaping prices can be far lower (with hourly rates ranging from $50 to $150) if you’re only seeking professional help with softscaping or seeking consultation on landscape design. Softscaping means adding or changing horticultural elements, such as planting a garden or adding a hedge. Hardscaping is where costs can really start to rise. Hardscaping requires labor and heavy equipment to excavate the earth; you may need to pour concrete, or you may need a pro who can transport and place gravel and other inorganic elements. Your total landscaping cost will vary based on the amount of work you want done, how much labor is required, and the cost of the materials you are using. A good rule of thumb for a major landscaping project, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects, is to budget 5 percent to 10 percent of the value of your home.

How much does it cost to landscape your front yard?

Prices for landscaping your front yard can range from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the scale of your front yard project. Your landscaping price will reflect how much change you implement, how much labor is required, and the cost of materials.

Landscaping is typically made up of softscaping and hardscaping. Softscaping refers to selecting trees, bushes, flowers and plants to achieve a desired aesthetic and to meet goals such as having a drought-tolerant yard. Hardscaping refers to moving earth, installing structures, and putting in decorative stonework, sidewalks or lighting. For softscaping, you may want to hire a landscape designer to consult on your plants and layout, and then do the digging and planting yourself or hire a gardner to handle the heavy lifting. A landscape designer’s hourly rate may range from $50 to $150 or more. If you want a turnkey approach, meaning someone who works with you to create the vision and then executes all the work, landscaping pricing will typically come down to a cost per square foot rather than an hourly rate. It’s a solid investment: Great landscaping can add up to 28 percent value to your home.
