This guy is not interested in helping people to save money. I have a large addition/remodel project that I am about to start. To save some money I decided to utilize Thumbtack. I am a Professional Land Surveyor. I work for an international Engineering and Surveying firm. As-build surveys are literally legally Licensed Land Surveyor work. I've been doing this for 35 years, and have completed hundreds of these for Architects, Engineers, and banks. and I have never seen an "Architect doing field measurements. I offered to provide an as-built survey. First he insulted me by saying,"I can tell, you just want the cheapest guy possible".
Not at all the case. I would however like to make my money go as far as possible by performing work that I'm competent to perform.
This guy insisted on doing field measurements himself. Architects normally NEVER do this. Its not even considered "architectural" work at all. In court of law, a Judge would laugh at this guy as he is irrelevant from a legal stand point. A licensed Land Surveyor (or P.E. professional engineer)is required to perform any field measurements of any type.
"AK" is charging to take measurements that wouldn't hold up in court if it came down to it. This guy is a clown. I would stay FAR, FAR away.
