I have been teaching golf to all levels for over 25 years. I provide private and group instruction as well as on-course work. I am a competitive player who's played on the PGA and Champions tours including 5 major championships. Teaching philosophy is about thinking simply to react and creating quality practice that requires a short amount of time. I provide instruction at several locations throughout San Diego county.

Tim started out by asking me questions about what I think about a golf swing. He got me to articulate some things I had thought about but never put into words and some things I had never thought about. He showed me another lens for looking at what is happening in my swing and why. It was, simply put, about the body following the mind. Tims philosophy on the golf swing is to work on swing mechanics away from the ball with the goal of winding and unwinding the body and allowing natural movement of the club in a pendulum-esk motion. Then when at the ball, there should only be one "swing thought" in the mind and the body should be relaxed so that it can reflexively follow the minds intention; which is set by the swing thought. I found I had two great results after the lesson: 1) it worked such that I was consistently hitting the ball better and could identify what was off when I missed a shot and 2) the feeling of hitting the ball was so much more enjoyable in my mind and body. I intend to continue to go to Tom for instruction and will also have my girlfriend get some beginner lessons from him.

I provide a variety of programs that includes privates instruction, group classes and clinics as well as golf schools. All pricing information can be seen on my website, TimParunGolf.com.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I find out what the students goals and desires are and create instruction programs to reach their objectives.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a PGA Professional that has been teaching golf for over 25 years. I also have played competitively on the PGA and Champions Tours including 5 Major Championships. I continue to attend instruction workshops and seminars and this vast experience separates me from other instructors.
