- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Initially I secure a retainer fee for the project. Then, I bill hourly or give the client the option to purchase blocks of time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Consultation: • Approximately 30 mins - 1 hour of a site walkthrough; discuss the working relationship and the client discusses their design goals. The design consultation is a time to listen to any challenges you are having with the existing space, learn more about your vision for the space, how you would like to use it, what your lifestyle is and how you'd like to feel in the space. -Draft and review the contract that is tailored to the project. -Agree upon the contractor, architect and/or subs needed. Site Measure/ Field Verification: • Per existing plans/drawings or from scratch. Schematic Design: • Present concepts per the designated project space to determine the design direction and mood. Design Development: • Select finish materials per the designated space once the Concept Design is confirmed (i.e. tile, paint, flooring, countertops, etc.) • Source and select plumbing fixtures, appliances, lighting, hardware, furniture • Initial development of drawings/renderings per each designated space Construction Documentation • Drawing packages (electrical, plumbing, finish materials, millwork) in coordination with the selected architect and/or contractor • Coordination with contractor • Specification schedules developed (upon request Construction Administration • Oversee construction to ensure design direction and quality • Meet with contractor and/or other trades to review designs and installs • Periodic job site visits throughout the construction/install process
