When I say that this company is the best I mean that they are the absolute best! I had the absolute pleasure to meet Daniel Munoz and I was blown away. He was so very kind and very professional. His eye for design is unmatched by anyone I have met so far in my search for a company that could do my turf. He had the most amazing ideas to bring actual life to the install. It was not the typical we will install your turf, this is the price kind of meeting. He was extremely kind, thoughtful and just had a great eye. It is very rare to meet truly kind people these days unfortunately. Daniel is one of the kindest people I have met. He made me believe in this company. I was told by a previous company that they could not do my dog run. Daniel assured me that they could. He told me exactly how they would accomplish the job. He addressed the concerns that the last company had. I felt completely confident in him. I trust him and I will only be getting any work done by Rock N Block. If it was not for my meeting Daniel I would be on the fence about getting any work done. Thank you for being a company with integrity, professionalism and genuine kindness. I chose Rock N Block even though their quote was higher than others because I liked my conversations with Greg, the owner. He spent time understanding the project, prepared a detailed drawing/design, and gave me confidence that we were paying more for better workmanship.
Unfortunately, the actual installation did not match that level of professionalism.
On the second day, weather (slight rain) caused delays, the second crew member was unavailable, and the installer arrived around 11:30 AM instead of 8 AM and still tried to finish everything that afternoon. The work felt rushed. Power brooming/re-sanding was done very quickly, cleanup was incomplete, leaves and debris were left around the yard, and there was no proper final walkthrough or handoff. When I pointed out remaining dirt/debris, I was told that was the homeowner's responsibility.
Within a day of installation, the DG around the putting-green cup became loose, the cup/flag tilted, turf was uneven, and the area appeared not to have been compacted properly. The installer ultimately had to return four separate times after installation. The first time, he lifted the putting-green turf and recompacted the cup area but did not re-sand it (he came unprepared). The second time, he returned to add sand, but when my wife pointed out debris, he declined to address it. He later returned with additional sand and removed some debris, and the remaining debris was finally addressed on the last visit only after repeated follow-up with Jose (project coordinator) and Greg (owner).
The contract also specifically included hauling away the old DG, but much of it was reused instead. I was ultimately okay with the reuse, but it was different from the written scope.
Most importantly, the grading/slope of the putting green is still not right. The ball tends to roll directly back toward the house, which is disappointing for a putting-green golf project where grading and precision should be fundamental and thats why I hired Rock-N-Block. After so many visits, texts, and back-and-forth, I simply gave up pursuing that issue further.
During one of the follow-up visits, the installer also spoke to my wife in a way we felt was inappropriate, suggesting that we were trying to use him to make our existing turf look brand new. That was particularly disappointing when we were simply asking for installation-related issues to be corrected.
I also would have appreciated Greg or Jose personally (after final work) inspecting the finished project and doing a proper final walkthrough before closing it out. Instead, most of the communication and troubleshooting happened through repeated texts, which became overwhelming.
I genuinely appreciate Greg's professionalism and Jose's patience and efforts to resolve the problems. However, given the higher price and the expectations set during the design and sales process, I cannot say the installer or the final workmanship were up to the same standard.

We had turf/pavers installed a few years back by a different company and since then the company no longer exists. Unfortunately we needed some repairs as the gophers and rain had caused a few major low spots in our putting green and lawn area. The reason we were sold on the previous company was due to 25yr-lifelong warranty, which was also no longer on the table due to the company going under. I reached out to Greg Z. who I had contact info from the install years ago. Greg jumped in and was able to send a team over to take care of us insisting it was the right thing to do. Hector and his guy fixed all the issues in no time and even explained why they had happened and some things we could do to help alleviate the issues in the future. We thought we were dead in the water and going to have to pay a ton of money to fix something we already had paid a warranty on. Luckily that was not the case. Huge thanks to Greg, Jose, Hector, and their team. Very professional and quality work. Will be calling rock n block for any future projects we have as they have shown they stand on quality and integrity. Something hard to come by with companies these days. Thanks!
