FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have had the opportunity of leading and being led on many sets and runways. I have gotten to work with some talented artists and I still think I learned something new every time I show up on a new set. One of my favorite things to do is work with the up-and-coming artist at the college level on their runway shows as they always have new ideas and fresh energy.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started off doing hair for prom and homecoming for my fellow cheer sisters in high school. I found that I had a knack for it and got licensed under the recommendation of a hairstylist that I met on site while filming a commercial. I enjoyed the flexibility, the people, and the industry so I stayed my whole life.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure your artist feels like a friend. You should never feel bad asking questions and your friend should never feel bad letting you know they don’t have the right answer. It’s more about the relationship and open communication than it is about hiring the most expensive artist. Most of us love what we do, we should love hanging out while we work together as well.
