- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I actually try to simplify the pricing structure of my services: I charge a flat hourly rate for all activities, whether it's consulting, design, execution, etc. In terms of pricing a job, if it's fairly well defined, I will quote an estimated total cost. If my help is required on an ongoing basis, I will work for a flat monthly retainer.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wanted to use the skills and knowledge I've acquired throughout my career to partner with entrepreneurs who are passionate about their businesses, and for causes I believe in.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A client of mine approached me requiring a website and ecommerce store set up. His existing site was criminally bad, and he had little to no content or online presence, despite having a very reputable business. After our work together, his website and store were automated and optimized to be on the front page of Google, and he was selling his products at a steady rate with no outbound marketing efforts whatsoever!
