I had Celia for face painting at my son's 4th birthday party. ( Ninja Turtle theme). She went along with the theme. Her face was painted as a ninja turtle which I thought was a great touch. She is awesome with kids and is very talented. The kids loved her work. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

I had a wonderful experience with Susan learning the basics of watercolors. She was great to tailor the lessons to exactly what I was looking to get from them and I learned a lot within a few lessons. I actually even came out of it with a fairly decent first painting. Beyond that, very reasonable prices, excellent communication, good schedule flexibility and a lovely cozy studio. Highly recommend!

Shelley has taught my 2 kids for 3 years since they were 3 and 5 years old. She is very talented in every kind of media. This was a fantastic opportunity for them to get creative at young age. She teaches with many kinds of mediums including clay, pastels, watercolor, charcoal, face painting, acrylic, balloons, and crafts etc. and introduced new project and theme every week. My kids have fun and a great learning experience. They are looking forward to their art lesson. They never get bored to learn with Ms. Shelley every week. She is kind, nice, funny, always smiling, and understanding. My kids have one hour lesson per week. After each lesson, Shelley always told me what they had accomplished their artwork that week. Sometimes, she assigned a light homework and my kids love to show her what they did during the week. My daughter enjoys the art lessons. She got award from Santa Clara County Young Artist showcase 2013. Her artwork will be displayed permanently at Santa Clara County Office of Education. We are so pleased with Shelley's teaching ability and professionalism and we highly recommend her as an art teacher to your kids or anyone who is interested in art and would like to improve the skills.

I have worked with Sayaka for several years, and she has given me a lot of helpful advice on how to improve my painting and drawing skills. She offers me insightful feedback on my completed work, as well as encourages me to take on new projects that I would never otherwise consider. For example, I am more comfortable painting in acrylic, but Sayaka has inspired me to try oil, and since then, I have broadened my horizons and feel ready to take on new challenges. Thank you Art Journey for making my artistic journey that much more fun and adventurous!

Both of my children go to Fame Yamaha Music Center. It is really a school of music and I can't say enough how happy we are. My 5 year old just started and he is so excited to go to class. My 8 years old son started when he was 5 and he is still enjoying learning to play piano at the school. Ms. Gloria has a gift to teach children and a natural gift to teach piano and music . She has so much experience and she is also very kind and caring to the child and parent. The Yamaha course is wonderful because it has beautiful and fun music for the children and develops as they grow in age and in their skills of learning and playing. They learn, not only playing the piano but also rhythm, sing notes, and skills on how to sing. Ms. Gloria is an amazing teacher and we are so lucky to have found a music school that is professional and child friendly, supporting the children to blossom and to develop a love for music. The Center also has guitar classes and art ( painting too) Claudia F.

Bill believes in an interactive and demonstrative rather than a strict pedagogical style of teaching. He wants us students, as much as possible, to find answers and inspiration for ourselves. Rather than just tell us, "This is how it is," he asks us questions, and that causes us to think. He describes process as we work on techniques he has demonstrated. I have experiences with other teachers whose approach was more rote. Bill encourages me to consider more than, for example, an image I am trying to replicate on paper. He will also steer me to additional sources of info and relevant examples of the subject in question. His breadth of knowledge and abilities is amazing. He works in virtually all media and has taught me so much about materials and their properties. He has inspired me to try my hand at genres I would never have thought of--sculpture, for example. For these and other reasons, I like Bill's approach to teaching.

About

I have a lifetime of serious art training and can actually draw, in a world where these days, everyone thinks they can't, and so no one tries any more, not even very many artists. I have an MFA from NYU and also studied art at Columbia, Parsons, the New School, the professional atelier of a prominent New York artist, and the San Francisco Art Institute. I studied art all over New York and Italy and France. I've spent my entire life drawing and painting. I have enough internal mastery of my craft to constantly innovate and pioneer new ideas all based on a solid foundation.

My name is Gaia, I'm an art student who took weekly private drawing and painting lessons with artist Reza. My time with Reza has been a very valuable experience for my blossoming career in the arts. For anyone considering to take private lessons I just want to share the benefits that you won't have in a regular classroom: • one on one interaction. • experiencing detailed demonstrations of first hand execution of every project by the teacher. • personalized instruction allows you to focus on your deficiencies and how to improve on them. Reza is a very talented artist, professional and expert of technique he is adept at instructing every level from beginners to advanced. I found it especially valuable to learn his classical training of painting.

About

I am a graduate of Ringling College of Art and Design of Sarasota, FL. I have been practicing drawing and painting since I was very young. I decided to attend this school to further progress in my field. There, I gained extensive knowledge of the practice of drawing and painting in various media and able to attain or warp realism with great control. I continue my practice nearly every day, and am currently working primarily in inked-line drawings. However, I am well-versed and still often enjoy painting in oils, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and ink and drawing with pen, ink, pencil, charcoal, etc. I am interested in teaching anything, from the basics of drawing and painting to a more structural and advanced anatomical and landscape drawing and painting, or even more conceptual forms of drawing and painting building strong concepts for a body of work and using more unconventional materials. I have more examples of various kinds of work not included on my website. -Amy
